      • IRS still uses carbon paper type forms for information returns. You have to have a typewriter strike the page.

        • Not true! But we should like it if they stay analog. When the tax process is fully digitized, which is in process, they are gonna know a lot more about us and our businesses than they do now...

I just read some stuff here: http://www.ey.com/Publication/vwLUAs...s-issue-14.pdf.

                • As we all have heard by now, D.J. Durkin is almost assuredly going to Maryland to be their next head coach. We all know that we'll have to replace his impact on the field, but I wanted to see how his leaving will affect us on the recruiting trail. Below is a list of current Michigan commits that Durkin is listed as the primary recruiter for on 247.  All information was taken from 247. Player Position State Composite Ranking Other Primary Recruiters Devin Gill Safety FL 3 Star, #993 Overall None Josh Metellus Safety FL 3 Star, #1419 Overall None Rashad Weaver DE/TE FL 3 Star, #1937 Overall Jay Harbaugh Antwaine Richardson CB FL 3 Star, #1313 Overall Mike Zordich The obvious similarity in all of these recruits is that they're all from Florida. Given Durkin's past in Florida, it's not surprising he was the main recruiter for all of these players. It is a little surprising that he wasn't the primary recruiter for a single other commit of ours. In terms of potential decommits, this is a small positive for Michigan. While we obviously want all of these kids to come to Michigan, especially if the coaches want them, if any of them did decommit they wouldn't destroy our recruiting class rankings by any means. Of these players, the only one I think would be a big flight risk is Weaver. There are already rumors of him potentially decommitting and one of his two main recruiters is now gone. I also looked at players Michigan is currently targeting to see how Durkin leaving could affect that. I looked at all players that 247 considers to be Top or High Choice targets for us. Player Position State Composite Ranking Other Primary Recruiters Caleb Kelly OLB CA 5 Star, #23 Overall Jay Harbaugh Dontavious Jackson ILB TX 4 Star, #119 Overall Greg Mattison Devin Bush Jr. ILB FL 4 Star, #230 Overall None Jonathan Jones OLB FL 3 Star, #415 Overall None This is a much more high profile list of players, and one that Michigan will feel more of an impact on. This time the common thread isn't the state but the position, as all of these players are LB's that Durkin was a lead recruiter on, which makes sense as Durkin was also our LB coach. Caleb Kelly is the most highly ranked of these players. Losing Durkin hurts, but honestly even with Durkin I don't think we were getting Kelly. Jonathan Jones is the lowest ranked guy on this list. I know very little about his recruitment honestly, but looking at Crystal Balls on 247 I would guess we still have a solid shot at him. Jackson and Bush are the two recruits where losing Durkin will hurt the most, IMO. Bush is from Florida and his recruitment is very much up in the air right now. Losing his primary recruiter, his position coach, and a guy with ties to his home state are all big negatives, especially since our biggest competition is FSU. My guess is Bush ends up at FSU now, though he stay may have ended up there originally. Losing Durkin will also hurt in the recruitment of Dontavious Jackson. Jackson is the player who was sitting next to Durkin when this rumor first came out this past weekend and tweeted at a reporter asking the reporter why he was lying. Losing Durkin will hurt here a lot once again, but I think it's more survivable considering Mattison is also recruiting him and Jackson isn't from Florida. It's also worth noting that Durkin was the lead recruiter for Keyshon Camp. I didn't include him because of the news that came out this weekend saying Camp had re-affirmed his commitment to USC after visiting us. Losing Durkin most likely wipes out any small chance that remained of getting Camp.

Moving this to here... Will be a bit dissappointed if we miss on more than 2 of those 4 LB's, M is a favorite for Bush and Jones. I've never felt we had a great shot at Kelly and Jackson I have little to go on other than M is solidly in it.

                    • Derrick Green is rumored looking into transferring, which almost always leads to a transfer...

Looking at the depth chart, not sure Strobel returns for 5th year. Blake Bars was rumored to be a potential medical scholarship possibility last season and saw a true freshman (Newsome) pass him on the depth chart. Potential 5th year casualty...

Reon Dawson, Terry Richardson, Ross Douglas & Jaron Dukes have fallen behind on the depth chart to players with less eligibility. All transfer possibilities.

                      • Bars not only lost his position on the depth chart, but JH burned Newsome's redshirt, so it is not as if they were equal.

Any idea who he is recruiting in North Carolina or just supporting his brother-in-law?
