  • Isn't Jordan Diamond still a strong Michigan lean? He would make this possibly the best OL class that we have ever had.

    • After M landed both Kalis and Magnuson (top 50 overall type OL), Diamond took a step back pondering his competition. He was expected to make a decision before school starts (in a few weeks.) M's lead has certainly shrank, haven't heard anything on Jordan lately. I'd certainly like him in this class and would imagine M still does too.

      • One other thought about Schutt and the alienating him and his high school coaching staff. The staff could be po'ed at UM for telling him not to visit. Or they could respect the UM staff because they were completely honest and did not try to deceive or mislead Schutt. I think either reaction is possible.

        • Odd that both ND and UM withdrew on the same day. Perhaps there's more to the story?

          • The door closed at ND when they got Sheldon Day. Michigan must have had a pretty good feeling that they would get Pipkins. Schutt simply waited too long.

My hunch is that he goes elsewhere. I've always thought Wisconsin had a good shot at him because it's close to home and mama.

              • Sounds to me that Mama is on the M train Big Time.

                • Well that sounds like mama's private affairs and not appropriate for discussion by a group of men who don't know her.

                    • I saw on the ESPN ticker yersterday that Schutt had committed to Penn State.

                      • With M trying to get back into it with CB's and turning away Schutt, I have a difficult time seeing them take 2 NT's. Both Wormley and Strobel are recruited for SDE but its probable one grows into a DT; Matt Godin btw mentioned he was recruited for the 3-tech (DT) spot...

I'm guessing with Pipkens commitment, O'Brien might be off the board unless M misses both at CB & RB... Rest of the class should be like this:

*2 WR, 1 OL, 1 BRA... Staff wants that BRA spot to go to a CB, Yuri Wright imo.

That fills the class at 26 scholarships.

                        • I heard on the radio today that Shutt did comitt to PSU.

Everything I'm reading at rivals from Helmhodt is 100% consistent with what WM posted above.

Rivals did a WR Hot Board this morning. There are 12 names on it. 10 of them have Michigan offers. Chatter indicates these are the three with the combination of most desirable/most likely to end up at M:

Stefon Diggs, 5*, friend of Blake Countes, #2 WR nationally.

Jehu Chesson, 3*, instate, #85 WR.

                          Dwayne Stanford, 4*, #11 WR.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

                          • If Danny O'Brien wants to come to Michigan, they will find room for him.

                            • I would hope so. That's kind of how I felt about Schutt though too.

I'm starting to wonder if they might stop short of 26 so as to leave more room for next year. I could see it if they're unable to reach 26 with elites.

It sure wouuld be nice to get a couple of these guys. I'm hopeful Stonum takes to this whole redshirt deal, gets his life in order and plays next year. If not, we're going to be hurting at WR without getting some help. Even if it is freshmen!
