Ohio currently has an offer out to this kid.

      • Whether Ohio would accept his commitment is another matter.

        • Needs left: DT, TE, WR & LB

Sounds like M will take another corner, maybe 2 more LB's and possibly 2 more WR's. Scholarship situation will be a crunch at signing day but there are 3-4 4th year Juniors who probably won't be asked back and normal attrition with a new coach should clear a good share of room for a class of ~26 members.

Partridge was a huge get. Real upgrade, and not just in the short-term. Soup is in the wings should Fisch decide to fly.

            • WM .. is the possible flip of Butler a good thing for Michigan?

              • Anyone care to take a guess which team employs this "Anonymous Big Ten Assistant Coach"?

Coward must not be too confident of what he's said, or he'd identify himself.

                • ... and Doc Hodgeman might want to chime in on this ...

How many times in this rivalry, have we seen one of the teams "loaded with talent" end up LOSING because the other team just simply played better on that given day?

I don't think Michigan has to go man-for-man in the recruiting wars to defeat ohio. There are SO many other things that happen on game day, there is no way that you can use recruiting rankings to determine future wins.

Ohio is going to win some future games, and so will Michigan.

                  • Heck, Even in the last two years, UM-Ohio was a nail biter. I honestly believe two years ago that had Gardner not had a broken foot, he would have rolled out for the 2 point conversion. Who knows. But it was not the 31-0 waxing that ND gave us last year. Let's not make it sound like UM is just miles behind OSU.

                    • Sometimes it just boils down to who is playing the best ball on game day. I've seen Michigan teams with more talent than ohio LOSE to those guys, and they had no business losing. But, they did. And, we've seen the opposite as well.

I think the prognosticators already putting ohio as a 16 point favorite in Ann Arbor in November are funny. Shows they know absolutely nothing about the rivalry.

                      • Alabama had more "talent" but still lost to a 3rd string QB they didnt respect....also blowing a 21-6 lead in the process. Happens all the time.

                        • I dunno. There were upwards of 8-10 first round picks that played for OSU in that game. Perhaps we assess talent differently.

                          • I strongly suspect that man for man, class after class , Saban's 85 recruits were ranked higher than Meyer's. Not post-game pro potential.

                            • Yeah, no one has outrecruited Saban. UFM is second, though. So the talent gap was narrower than, say, the gulf between OSU and Purdue or other B10 schools that have not recruited a series of top 5-10 classes.
