  • Mgoblog reporting Bredeson on board!

    Comment

    • That's a huge get considering Hartland is only 60 miles from Madison, and Wisconsin is known for producing O-linemen.

      • More bad news, per Mgoblog:
Interesting recruting quote from 247s Steve Wiltfong (silent commits)

Link to full article posted below. Last line of article caught my attention. 2 silent verbals among that group? My guess is Khalid Kareem and Ahmir Mitchell. But any 2 of that group is pretty damn big news.

"Michigan will try and cook up a few more major recruiting wins before National Signing Day. Bredeson was the first win the staff really had to battle for. The other 14 were guys that already favored Michigan or the Wolverines staff evaluated and gave them their first big-time opportunity.

The nation's No. 1 recruit Rashan Gary is a big-time battle the Wolverines could definitely win.

Harbaugh and his staff are also fighing for blue-chippers like five-star linebacker Caleb Kelly, Top100 offensive guard Terrance Davis, Top100 defensive end Xavier Kelly, Top247 defensive end Khalid Kareem, Top100 linebacker Dontavious Jackson, tight end Naseir Upshur, Top247 offensive tackle Devery Hamilton, Devin Bush Jr., Ahmir Mitchell, Brad Hawkins, David Long and Top100 offensive tackle Jean Delance.

From this group, Michigan has already secured a couple of them, just waiting for the right time for it to go public."

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh and his staff have their first major recruiting coup in Ann Arbor in Ben Bredeson.

        • Devin Bush is surely 1 of them. Kareem would be my other guess.

          • Also heard JH will part ways with Dele Harding. Matter of time. That's a shame. Part of my thinking on the bet with Oracle is that JH will stick by his middling signees.

Also heard a decommit may be coming. One M guy was speculating that if OSU offered Evans he'd jump. But I can't figure out where OSU would have room for him. Could be that Kingston kid, too. Eh, whatever.

            • I don't think you really thought that. M will rise in the rankings, for one reason and as WM stated above, the early guys M took commits from will get evaluated finally or further and rise...fair or not. There won't be any 2 stars and probably not even a lot of low 3 stars.

I've read the same on Harding, and it's mostly picked up after they saw Harding in person for the first time a few days ago. Saw the same on Evans and was wondering where they'd find room for him at OSU. Rivals guys are steadfast that Kingston is solid...we'll see on that one, but there's a good Prattville base either here or on the way.

Oh no, I do. M's class isn't going to get re-evaluated in a vacuum. Lots of other kids are going to get re-evaluated, too. M will still have gads of 3* commits -- assuming JH doesn't jettison them. That won't get them in the top 10.

                • Josh Metellus is on-board! I feel better about my wager.

                      • HARBAUGH! should have as many commits as MSU by close of business. I wonder whether he'll pass them or not.

                        • The only way that this class ends up in the Top 15 is if Harbaugh runs off at least 10 players that aren't scheduled to graduate. If Metellus is in, then we are long past the point where the class can be salvaged with normal attrition from the team. We're at 87 scholarships on signing day, 2016 right now.

                            • It's amazing that Hannibal makes -0- posts after the number 4 tackle in the country commits but once the 2 star safety commits, he shows up lickety split. ;)
