  • Depth = numbers. We have a few guys who can go in and be mediocre enough to average 5 ypc with good blocking. They actually did that this year. That's depth. What we lack are studs. Weber hasn't really struck me as one of those.

    • Depth = numbers. Exactly. 3 is not deep at the RB position. It's worse when you consider that Hayes is a senior and Johnson, Green, and Smith are juniors. Need to bring in at least one RB in this class.

        • I agree with Hack. Getting Weber is as much psychological as physical. I think the Wheatley hire was an attempt to lock down Detroit, particularly Cass Tech. UM needs a Glendale, and Cass has that potential. Further, I agree with Talent that OSU gets a running back, but maybe not two, and Weber to UM screws MSU, always a good thing. We do definitely need a RB in this class. Of all positions, that is the one with the greatest attrition during the season. OSU for Mr. Scott!

          • Now that we're trying to flip him we'd better not fail. Overall I'd like some good recruiting news. I never quite believed the hype of early December that once Harbaugh came we'd see five-star kids ready to flip -- I think the rumour was at least five of them -- but I do want to see some recruiting wins soon.

            • The unimpressive new offers that have gone out over the past couple of weeks are a little bit ominous.

              • Bad news on the Clark front today. UCLA had verbals from the # 1 and #2 tight ends in the country (Clark being #2). # 1 flipped today to ND. UCLA has full court press on Clark now.

                • Not too worried. I'm sure we'll have the full court press on too.

                  • M will struggle to fill all its scholarships, JB. Right now they are taking anyone with talent that fits their needs... There are probably a 5th year senior or two M doesn't need if it comes to that...

Tons of offers, visits this the past couple days and expect more and more going forward. They are attempting to make-up for the lost recruiting since August under Hoke. New coaches just hired can't make up that much lost time so quickly, especially with the dead period in early January.

                    • Hoke did. Meyer did. No reason Harbaugh can't, especially since we're talking about a handful of spots.

                      • I saw a teaser on Face Book from Rivals saying that a "good" quarterback was considering a transfer to Michigan.

Anyone with Rivals know who that might be?

                        • Kevin Hogan and he's since said he's staying at Stanford(as of now). His transfer was pretty much all speculation anyway, nothing was ever concrete.

                          • Ok I thought so.

I let my Rivals subscription expire because I got tired of paying a premium to read stuff I could see for free in the Free Press and Detroit News.

                            • Hoke didn't do anything to salvage the 2011 class. It was merely mediocre.

Yeah, you're right. I remember much praise for him, and there's definitely some solid contributors, but that's it.
