Not only are you a snowbird pussy and quite likely a not straight one, but on top of that there you go with your more-pretend-money-than-taste thing again. Key limes are for pie. Too smooth for margaritas because they lack that tangy bite needed in a drink. That's what makes them great in pie.

When in season, Floridians often use tart Key limes make this cocktail delicious and authentic. You may substitute the more common Persian limes you always find produce in stores, just be sure to use fresh juice but of course you knew that.
"One of the best cocktails I’ve made this week was this Key Lime Margarita.
Key limes are in season now through December. They have a distinctive tart taste and make a perfect compliment to a basic margarita. "?I don?t take vacations. I don?t get sick. I don?t observe major holidays. I?m a jackhammer.?

Yeah but they're not tart in comparison. Which, again, that's why they work so well in pies. Maybe all this is fine for you ``eclectic'' types, whatever the heck THAT means, but up here where we don't run sobbing run from the elements, people know better.

Key lime
The Key lime (Citrus aurantiifolia)[1] is a citrus species with a globose fruit, 2.5–5 cm in diameter (1–2 in), that is yellow when ripe but usually picked green commercially. It is smaller and seedier, with a higher acidity, a stronger aroma, and a thinner rind, than that of the Persian lime (Citrus ? latifolia). It is valued for its unique flavor compared to other limes, with the Key lime usually having a more tart and bitter flavor. The name comes from its association with the Florida Keys, where it is best known as the flavoring ingredient in Key lime pie. It is also known as West Indian lime, bartender’s lime, Omani lime, or Mexican lime, the last classified as a distinct race with a thicker skin and darker green color. Philippine varieties have various names, including dayap and bilolo.[2]?I don?t take vacations. I don?t get sick. I don?t observe major holidays. I?m a jackhammer.?

It's a high of 81F and showers today, I think I'll have a Key Lime Margarita.
As for Hack, he will likely drown his sorrows in a Shirley Temple, extra fruit while baking some crap.Last edited by Optimus Prime; January 10, 2015, 07:07 AM.?I don?t take vacations. I don?t get sick. I don?t observe major holidays. I?m a jackhammer.?

Snow and ice made my winter last year so miserable I nearly gave up trucking. Seems like they'd just clear the snow and ice from the previous day, and it would start up all over again. Its miserable driving a semi truck on slippery roads.
Four wheelers go absolutely crazy around us. They don't realize that the first thing that happens to a semi on a slippery road when the brakes are applied, the trailer naturally wants to jack-knife. They don't WANT to stop in a straight line.
And it happens at 30 mph as easily as it does at 60 mph.
I nearly wiped out in Northern Indiana yesterday along I-69. The bozo who cut in front of me in a white Beemer nearly had me in his trunk. He cut in front of me, but didn't realize that the reason I was going slow, is that I could see the snowplow in front of me about 30 yards away. He nearly got sandwiched by me and the snowplow.Last edited by lineygoblue; January 10, 2015, 11:09 AM."The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, .. Didn't Atlanta shut down last year because they got an inch or two of snow? I had at least three feet of snow on the roof of my house last year. I gladly paid a guy and his crew to remove it. We had 110 inches of snowfall last year, but that's a weekend to people in Buffalo, NY.I'll let you ban hate speech when you let me define hate speech.

I live in nearby Charlotte and we shut down for 2 days as well.
You have to understand, there are no salt trucks here, and very few snow plows. The ones in use go to the main roads and highways, which is fine unless you can't get out of your own driveway.
6-7 inches of snow is death down here, because the temperature never stays below freezing for long, so eventually you wind up with 5-6 inches of half-melted sludge that you can't navigate. I can drive easily through snow and ice. Sludge is impossible.
It was all gone within 72 hours, but during the first 48 the city was paralyzed. Not to mention half the people here never saw that much snow before, so you weren't safe even if you made it on to the roads. I lost a co-worker last winter because he tried to make it through and got blindsided by another vehicle.Last edited by Kstat; January 10, 2015, 11:46 AM.
