it would work in M's favor if a QB controversy rages in C-bus next year with a Miller camp and a Barrett camp --- two Circles of Trust!
We will need a lot of help. Meyer has recruited better players AND developed them far better. Harbaugh will have a tough time catching up in one year. I think we are still looking at two more LL's before things turn around.
The question that none of us can answer yet, though, is will Harbaugh be Meyer's "Saban-ite"
If he recruits as well as the Alabama Machine, JH will beat all-comers. I don't think it's possible to recruit as well as the Alabama Machine without recruiting like the Alabama Machine, so I'm going to rule that out.
It's an interesting comparison to Saban. The bowl season Saban was hired Florida and UFM won the national title. Two years later UFM won another national title. If history repeats itself (and I just posted in the Ohio thread about how fatuous that reasoning is--heh), then I can live with that.
I won't bore anyone with OSU's QB issues on this thread. Happy to discuss on OSU thread.
Germanely, it certainly looks like Iman will commit (though I think he would have been in if Hoke was there...well, if Hoke had shown any promise...it'd take a lot to drive him away from M). I also think the three-way RB carousel will be interesting to watch. M still has a shot at Weber. M probably has zero shot Harris. Scott may not be super solid to MSU. I still think Harris stays home, but I could see Weber maybe flipping back to M and Scott coming to OSU. As long as OSU gets 1 of them, I don't much care.
Anyway, it will be far more interesting to see what JH does for 2016. This year will be really tough. There's no Penn State debacle to help (though, if Mora leaves, that may pay as big as dividends) and the window is really tight. I know Oracle has guaranteed a top 20 class, but I'm skeptical. We'll see. I think 2016 will definitely be a great class.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]? Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.
A different angle on the recruiting front -- one name I've heard tossed around as a possible member of the staff is Vince Marrow. He's been doing fantastic work in Ohio for UK. I have no clue how good a TEs coach he is, but the guy is a top-shelf recruiter. IMO, he'd be far more effective in Ohio than Durkin who has pretty much been gone from Ohio since 2006. Marrow was working it for UNL and got some kids out there and really did a great job cleaning up in Ohio for UK.
A lot of OSU fans want UFM to add him and jettison Hinton. I think Marrow would have landed at least one of Shaun Crawford or LJ Scott if not both.

Eh. I want a guy who develops players. If Harbaugh is bringing some "name" guys with him then recruiting won't be a problem. We need immediate improvement in player development.
