Four years of good coaching is going to pay off for MSU but right now there no evidence that four years of UM's mediocre position coaching is going to bring dividends. You have to be able to coach them up for the roster-stability argument to work. Hoke's staff isnt doing that. Only a precious few recruits are meeting or exceeding expectations.

With the only outliers being truly exceptional players (Woodson, Jackson, etc)
I agree. But, it could be that, presently, Hoke's good recruiting classes may be influenced by the lack of depth and some kids hooking up with M because they see the opportunity to play early as opposed to sitting out a year or two.

Bear Bryant always said : "
I can take my'en and beat your'en and then take your'en and beat my'en"
I believe that there are several coaching staffs which, given UM's talent, could product a much better team than the Hoke staff. I believe that the Bear's dictum could be true for the staffs at OSU, PSU, Alabama, TA+M, USC and UCLA.

Looks like the cycle/excuse of "we're still young" begins again."in order to lead America you must love America"

Bear was a simple man operating in simple (CFB) world.
I'm not excusing DB, Hoke or his staff for the misery we've been through over the last decade but CFB is immensely more complicated than it was in the 50s - 70s and the players are immensely more difficult to coach by virtue of increased strength and skill levels of players playing across from them on the field and that 17-22 year olds are very different today young men than they were in Bear's, Bo's and Woody's time.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
