I don't think it is him having too much time to throw. I think he just isn't good on long passes.

Kalis is on his way back home following his visit to Ann Arbor. He said it was "awesome".
Read anything into that, that you want. To me, at least he gave us a chance.
Still think Wormley is the key. Get him, and I think others will follow, and make this class one of the best since the 90's."in order to lead America you must love America"

Good players are good players in any scheme. The only real different I've seen is that usually spread RB's are better at catching passes, but ours weren't really anyways.
The spread does tend to utilize smaller, quicker players, but if a player is good he can play in any scheme.

Just a reminder to check the recruiting board every so often to notice new names and names that aren't there anymore. I don't always note new names making the board and names that disappear, unless I figured M had a good shot at them...
Coaches seem to be telling recruits they are only recruiting one 'interior' defensive line position. This seems odd, not sure what to make from it as the DT position is in need of numbers and quality. I thought 3 DT's would be possible, maybe the coaches are expecting a couple of the SDE's to grow into 3-tech (DT/ William Campbell). Coaches are also calling the 5-tech/SDE (Ryan Van Bergen) a DT position (I'll continue to call it the SDE), the SDE really is 'inside' the SAM which is half defensive end and half linebacker...
Godin, Strobel and Wormley (maybe soon a Wolverine) all look like SDE types presently that potentially grow into DT's (3-tech or NT).

If he a better OG or OT prospect?
FWIW Sam Webb was talking up Ben Braden on the radio last week and he said that he's a kickass LT prospect.
Diamond and Kalis would make this the best OL recruiting class in Michigan history (guru rating-wise, that is).

Highlights at rivals is almost all run blocking which he's really good at, must be a run first, run second type high school offense. Athletic and aggressive, good combination. He's a high school tackle but guys who are 'new' to pass blocking will usually end up inside in college... [IMO he's a guard in college until I see more pass blocking from him.]
Rivals should give us a better breakdown tomorrow of his skills/abilities with an insider article tonight/tomorrow. I'm not one to analyze high school offensive lineman, especially highlights. Game type imo tells you a ton more about lineman (both offensive and defensive) than highlights. I'm pretty hard on lineman who take plays off; its pretty easy to look impressive in highlights if you only give 100% every third play. One, you saved up energy and two, you surprise the opposition and third, those 'off' plays you can look really bad... I'll relay more info about Blake when I read more about him from trusted sources. He was believed to be a PSU lean as his brother plays/played for them...
FWIW a #39th ranked OT imo is equivalent to a #19 ranked OG. Not sure how that works at the recruiting services but I do know there are a lot more 4-star tackles than guards/centers. Tackles generally can move to the interior pretty easily, even elite guards struggle with moves to tackle; your usually pigeon holed at guard for a reason...

Godin is between positions (SDE & DT), at rivals he'll likely stay at 3-stars. Rivals also grossly overvalues NFL potential, meaning undersized guys like Funchess have little chance at 4-stars...
Ojemudia is a 3-star at rivals and will stay there on rivals as he's a bit of a tweener but is well suited for M's SAM LB/DE position; I'm more interested in his & Funchess star ratings at scout/247/epsn.

Kyle Kalis is going to decide before school starts. Insiders believe he's 90% decided he's a Wolverine and heard he was likely to commit during his recent visit last weekend; he was the supposed 'huge' commit not Jarrod Wilson...
Once the 5th OL spot fills up, there might be a race for the final 6th OL spot; Jordan Diamond & Andrus Peat likely have first dibs before they take anyone else. M might even wait till those decide before taking anyone else on their board.
