WMU has had to compete with UM, MSU, and ND for fans on football Saturdays. Too bad because they put on a pretty decent show and the stadium is user friendly. As soon as they get a decent HC and a good winning season or two he is usually gone to one of the big schools. It is a constant refueling project.

I volunteer, on behalf of the forum, to go as Hand's replacement.

No cause for concern, he's been to AA already. It's tough to get kids from more than a car drive away to make it on campus unofficially. Unless you're in the SEC or Oregon, then the trip is free.

Looks as if Fournette will be attending the bbq next weekend. It will be interesting to see what comes of it.

3-to-4 day stay in AA. He'll get a long taste of the university and get to know current players well. He's a 'special' talent imo, I'd put him at #1 overall recruit in the country.

It would be cool if Michigan Basketball had some kind of big weekend event too. Not as easy to do since they are recruiting about 1/7 the amount of players and almost all of the recruits are playing AAU ball but they could tie it in with some sort of Basketball Alumni weekend.

That would be great and smart.

re: Fournette, it's always been tough just to get the top kids from the deep south (Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi) to visit, hopefully he has a great weekend here.

In the south it takes money to get kids to visit your campus but those same schools boosters will spend a lot of cash for kids to NOT visit places.

A kid of Fournette caliber, 40k to visit, 20k to not visit.

Fournette is a pipe dream, IMO. Even if he comes up unofficially for the BBQ. He's playing in the SEC, and if I had to bet, playing for Alabama.

He's a kid that has never really expressed any serious interest in playing outside the SEC. Lots of big time kids down there actually want to look around and aren't necessarily totally committed to the SEC. But, he seems like one of them. Tunsil was definitely that way, as was the RB Bama got last year (forget his name).

That said, gotta give Hokattison credit for trying to pull him. You don't get elite talent if you don't ask and push. And you never know what may happen down the road, so it's definitely worth the push.
