  • This is McCallister's website. His blog is really good. It's far more detailed than anything you guys probably want -- he touches on every Ohio kid who is a potential D1 recruit. However, he has a really good reputation so sometimes it's worth the effort.

    Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

        • thanks Talent. I bookmarked the website. The kid looks good on film, but that is all about editing. You make a good point about the amount of weight work this guy has already done - his physical maturity. But, if he gained 40 lbs in the past year, maybe he does project to a Van Bergen type. I watched Van Bergen play a dozen times in high school, for a Division 5 program (out of 8 in MI), and he did not impress.

          • M coaches saw him at camp. They know what they're getting. I trust camp offers, especially if you think your coaches are competent (I may not have trusted a RicHGOD camp offer...heh).

            • Highlight film shows Furbush as plenty fast for his size, explosive, a hard hitter, good tackler but doesn't show much of anything in coverage or much of his lateral movement.

              • Leonard Fournette is scheduled to visit Ann Arbor for the BBQ, he's a long, long shot at this point but he's one of those you're glad to have a shot. Imo he's the #1 overall recruit in this class, ahead of Hand & Peppers...

Peppers deserves a huge assist in M's recruitment and current classmates in this digital age will continue to be critical recruiters.

                • just the fact he is visiting is pretty amazing. We don't have the hostesses (like USC, Tejas, SEC, etc. .... it's Michigan fergodsakes) to make the trip otherwise worthwhile, so he has to have at least some interest. You're right, it's not going to happen ... but can you imagine what type of 1-2 punch D Green and Fournette would be?

                  • LF is a real long shot [right now], but once you get a recruit on campus, especially our University of Michigan; kids can fall in love with the university. Whoever lands him imo landed themselves a 3-year starter at running back, easily one of the most impressive running back recruits I've seen. LF showing up before his official shows a lot of interest, lots of RB recruits will be at the BBQ; LF, Ballage, Hilliman.

                    • Wasn't he going to be nearby for a 7 on 7 or something?

If he falls in love with anything, it will be the o line talent.

                        • Anyone paying attention to what this new HC is doing at Western Michigan? His class isn't just ranked 40 spots higher than anyone else in the MAC, he's actually picking up momentum.

I did see several weeks ago that WMU was off to a very good start. They've kept it going, huh? Good to know that; They have a pretty decent home field there at Waldo and I've thought for a long time that they could take over from CMU as the top in-state MAC program.

                            • He's got a 4-star QB (Rivals) who blew off Wisconsin and Illinois to play at Kalamazoo...the OL he picked up yesterday was a "plan B" type for both ND and Michigan.

...we'll see if he can keep it up. We all know the "marathon not a sprint" analogy.

                              • WMU has had to compete with UM, MSU, and ND for fans on football Saturdays. Too bad because they put on a pretty decent show and the stadium is user friendly. As soon as they get a decent HC and a good winning season or two he is usually gone to one of the big schools. It is a constant refueling project.
