  • Owens has a really nice offer list on rivals. If it's for real, then the kid is wildly underrated as a mid 3*.

    • Conflicting info on Owens both from two supposed insiders, one says they expect him to drop for M and another saying M is hardly in the running.

      • Then its probably somewhere in the middle

        • we have five planned early enrollees for next year's class ... as I understand, we can apply three of them to the previous year (we have open scholarships this year from loss of seniors) ... this should help Hoke and co sign a larger class than we might have anticipated.

          • Doesn't work that way, M is limited by the NCAA limit of 85 on signing day with the only caveat being you can over-sign by three in the B10 only if you know where that attrition is coming from.

              • Saban signs as many guys as he wants as he's in the SEC, he's only limited by the NCAA rules which leave a lot of gray area. Saban is always willing to send kids who aren't going to be contributors on their way to a Sun Belt school to make room for all these recruits.

                • I think Jamarco Jones is probably OSU or MSU. Not a huge surprise, nor is it position of need for M.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
                  Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

which further proves the NCAA is a joke because most of its members see this as a bad thing. They actually care about the students to the extent that they get an education

                      • Jon Runyan Jr has picked up a Michigan offer. He is in the 2015 class. I saw different stats on him. One has him at 6'3" and 240. The other has him at 6'5" and 250. He's a OL, like his dad.

He said originally he was going to take some time and do some visits, but most expect him to drop for Michigan very soon.

I don't know where he ranks in all the recruiting services.

                        • Just saw this. M add another QB. Couple of nifty runs in the highlight film.

                          • That QB's a walk-on btw...

I see M & ND both ahead of OSU if Juju leaves Cali... Adoree looking less likely for M, he's a potential Olympic quality sprinter, long jumper, etc. so he'll likely end up at a university that is as good in track as they are in football...

Haven't heard from the insiders yet today, I assume J Jones implied his visit to Columbus went very well? M probably only takes two OL in this class unless they can flip a kid in December, January whose coach gets fired or jumps to the NFL (hopefully ND's Kelly leaves so M can land Bars)...

M won't sign a running back just to get one, it's going to have to be one they really like, like Hilliman or Ballage; or they'll get nothing...

M is putting all of its WR stock into Artavis Scott, slow playing other top recruits like Jalen Brown (who they'll lose most likely), Corey Holmes and KJ Williams while hoping to land Scott...

When I get to updating the recruiting board, I'm going to add a few names. Some new offers went out and I think the staff sees more attrition than they did previously. Some of those names who probably make my board are:

Drue Tranquill LB/S (Indiana) - Some people felt he was the best player at the SMSB camp and camped at AA just after and impressed there as well. Might be in line for an offer after some other options fall through...

Freddy Canteen WR (Maryland) - Surprisingly earned an offer at camp, surprised they offered him when they had mutual interest from the list of WR's I listed above.

Garrett Dickerson TE/DE - Listed a top 3 of Stanford, M & NW... I don't see him fitting into M's class unless M feels it wants another TE, he was on my recruiting board early but fell off when M landed what was thought to be their only TE but he's as good of a DE prospect as he is a TE prospect...

Dwight Williams WLB (California) - Tremendous athlete that's likely to take an official in AA this fall.

Darrion Owens WLB (Florida) - Ditto the above. M wants a 3rd LB in this class and is looking at WLB types...

                            • That kid has some nice touch especially on the deeper throws

                              • Canteen's teammate, a cornerback, got offered at camp too. Name escapes me for the moment. Surprised by this offer too, not sure if he's a plan B in case higher rated guys drop M or if M coaches were that impressed by him.
