Alabama concerns me the most. Saban will probably get Hand in a conference room, surrounded by all his assistants, and put on the full court press. They are probably Michigan's biggest competition at this time. If Hand goes south, that's where he'll go, not Florida. And, I'm sure Saban will have the video of the recent Alabama v Michigan playing on a video monitor somewhere ....

I think USC may just be an opportunity to take a west coast visit.

I think M has a pretty strong lead over everyone but isn't in the clear, M insiders (along with Farrell) recently (even before VT news) have been getting awfully confident in M's chances.

Just relaying what I read. M felt at least this confident this time of year with Treadwell. Things can change, no doubt. His bullshit reason about VT not having a "sports management" program or whatever is a pretty good sign though. He peeled away any hometown/state pressure and now can just pick M over the SEC schools. I don't think he would have done that if he didn't know where he was going. JMO.

I'm not as optimistic on Hand as say M's insiders (& Farrell) and haven't really watched much of his highlights either. Regardless, he's an elite talent to most anyone whose watched him and M is looking like a good-to-strong favorite...

McDowell is the guy who I really want to drop, I love really athletic defensive tackles who can get pressure on the QB AND slow down the oppositions run game. Those guys do the dirty work that allow your pass rushers to get to the QB...

Would like the DB's to sort each other out but those guys are mostly out of region types who'll need official visits to M and mostly are guys who will make decisions later in the process...

June 28th is when Jonathan Hilliman visits AA, expect him to announce for the Buckeyes shortly thereafter or hopefully, be torn between the two. M has a lot of room to make-up but you can make up a lot with on campus visits... He's not an 'elite' recruit but probably will earn 4-star status and top 250 overall, plus he's the 'big' back type that Hoke really wants/needs to run 'power'.

Isn't McDowell an SDE? I'm not a huge fan of guys having to pack on 20+ pounds and switch positions. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.

Edit: Nevermind -- kid is listed at 290 already.

And we've already got Mone in the fold. If we land just one of McD or Hand, our defensive line is going to be insane right around 2015/2016 time frame. Downright Alabama/LSU-like.

Jamarco Jones will not take any more visits. That's not all that surprising. You don't set an announcement date without knowing where you're going, and these aren't OVs but rather on his own dime.

I also agree with WM on McDowell vs Hand. Hand is certainly worthy of a top 10 ranking, but he isn't a Clowney or even an Nkemdiche, IMO. McDowell is really good, and TBH, probably a bit underrated. I also think both Webb and Harris are underrated, too. Michigan really has a top 3 that can compare with any state's top 3, IMO. Rare year where I'd definitely take Michigan's top 3 players over Ohio's. I'm not even sure who is #2 and #3 in Ohio.
