  • apparently Jabril convinced Fournette to do an official visit this fall ... he is obviously a real long shot

    • Yup, with M not having many other RB's as targets, that's a nice sign. Still, very tough to see him leaving the SEC/south.

      • Vacated victories should also be vacated losses. If the cheating team forfeits the win, then the losing team shouldn't be stuck with the loss.

        JMO

Side note on that subject: The NFHS rule DOES give a forfeited (vacated) win to the losing school, to count as a victory. Its needed in calculating playoff spots. Even the high schools can get it right.

        • Agree, the vacated victories SHOULD be a forfeit, not a vacated victory.

          • If nothing else, make it a no-contest. No winner, no loser. The game never happened.

            • Vacated victories are the NCAA's way of gutlessly looking like they are dishing out punishment when they really aren't.

                • Mike Farrell tweeted "@rivalsmike: Ok I changed my mind, gun to head today I think #Michigan would be choice for Da'Shawn Hand. Things getting interesting."

                  • Cool!

Coach "no titles" continues to impress the type of athletes he's going to need to get Michigan where it should be.

Hoke probably isn't going to win big as quickly as we all would like, but he's building a solid foundation with his recruiting, by going after not only top talent, but quality people as well. I think in 4-5 years the Michigan football program is going to resemble Schembechler's program more than Carr's program. And that's a good thing.

                    • The 'senior' classes lately ('11, '12, '13) are pretty underwhelming in talent (All Conference, NFL draftees, etc.), Hoke & Mattison aren't miracle workers.

Hoke inherited a middle of the road B10 program that needed rebuilt from the ground-up and Hoke needed to completely change the style on the offensive side of the ball. Coaching change drastically hurt the recruiting class of '11 that was looking to be pretty good (top 8-12) till DB's 'process.'

                      • Word is out there this morning that DaShawn Hand has eliminated VT and So Carolina from consideration. He's down to Florida, Alabama and Michigan, and still may visit USC and LSU.

Many have thought that VT was Michigan's biggest competition.

                        • Virginia Tech doesn't have the coveted "sports management" program, so they're out according to Hand.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
                          Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

                          • Wow. VaTech went from being the odds-on favorite to being out of the picture really fast.

As far as I can tell, neither does Bama, at least I don't see it listed as an undergraduate major on its website, only a grad program. Although Hand said he met with the head of the program, so either Saban is lying to recruits, or they are creating an undergrad major for Hand.
