Wow, I really thought he was going to MSU. McDowell is a SDE at 290 lbs., and Marshall's commit shouldn't deter him from becoming a Wolverine. I''l take him and Peppers, thank you.

Coach Hoke is dominating the early recruiting season yet again.
Not sure if the OSU stuff is just standard daft flaming or woeful ignorance. Both are such real possibilities. Either way, it's puzzling that UFM is mentioned so often in a M recruiting thread.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]? Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.
One of the reasons Michigan Wolverines' second-year head coach Brady Hoke quickly won over the Maize and Blue faithful after his 2011 hiring was his dominance on the recruiting trail...

Mattison, from what I've read from OSU insiders, is a genius recruiter, too. I don't know much about the rest of the staff, but they're bringing in players.
I don't think many of the elite programs negative recruit -- just way to much to sell. Some do, but I think the majority do not.

Sucks that B1G put U-M and OSU in the same division. The Game will be the game in the conference for a long time if the two schools continue to recruit as they have the last two years, though PSU and Nebraska will always be significant. Hoke's hiring of Mattison was the best move he ever made. Hoke = serendipity.

Very mixed reviews on Gelen Robinson, some say he's a very good defensive end just too short to play at a high level (limited ceiling) in the B10, others are even less optimistic. I'm very happy to have Marshall.
Prevailing thought seems to be that he has the physical frame to end up around 270-275 if he hits the weight room and training table once they get him on campus. Then again, there exists some possibility Mattison might see if he's a kid that could be groomed to replace Jake Ryan, as the speed and athleticism he possesses would fit well at that spot on defense.
The more success Hoke and his staff have recruiting , the more the B1G looks to be once again evolving into the Big 2 little 12-or-more. That, of course, has to translate to the field of play, but I have little doubt it will in Ann Arbor. Bigger question, in my mind, is the length of Urban's reign in Columbus. Just as oiho fans point to Hoke and his lack of titles, I still have my doubts about the staying power of the urban legend.
