    • guess we may be trying to save Shane's redshirt??

Former Arkansas quarterback Brandon Mitchell has added Michigan to his list of possible transfer choices, a source said Thursday.

      • Seems that's the goal, yeah.

        • While I appreciate that, it kind of bothers me that they are thy concerned. If Shane was the equal of Mallet or Henne I think they'd be much more comfy rolling the dice.

          • Or it may be just that the mono was a setback in his development. You lose half a season of football at any point and you've got to make up for lost time. At this developmental stage that's gotta be even worse.

Either way, I agree with the general notion that he's not too precious to keep off the field in this upcoming year. He'd damn well better not be the last elite QB they recruit in the forseeable future.

            • I don't know how severe the mono was but it certainly could be what hurt his 'recruiting' rankings and his play last season. I doubt it affected his development much though I think Hoke would rather not rely on a true freshman as our backup QB.

              • I think I just read on Twitter that Lawrence Marshall is blue. Now I have to find out who that is.

                • Here we go. He's a 3 star on Rivals and a 4 star on ESPN. ESPN has him ranked #107 overall:

                  • He's generally considered the 4th best prospect in MI, behind McDowell, Webb and Harris. And he had visited Sparty 8 times in the past three months, and Sparty considered him a lock and a priority.

                    • Don't forget---besides practically being a spartie commit (or so they thought until today), Marshall was an osu commit several months ago, before apparently finding out that he had committed to an uncommittable Urban offer.

This is (in case anyone has forgotten) Urban's World, we just happen to live in it.

                        • The Urban Myth didn't "really" want him anyway ... so he allowed him to commit elsewhere.

The Urban Myth NEVER, and I mean NEVER misses out on a player that he "really wants".

Keep that in mind, guys ... :-P

                            • Ah. I didn't remember that it was the same guy.

                              • Marshall is great mainly because we took him away from Sparty. As others have noted, Urban did not want him, and continues to dominate Hoke on the recruiting trail and on the field.

I hope this doesn't change Hand and McDowell's recruitment, though I think Hand ends up at Auburn or VaTech.
