  • No offense at all, but really a recruiting board at this juncture means extremely little except who maybe we've offered and are setting up visits at the the moment. Understand it's fluid though.

    • Is it about time that we land another punter and/or a kicker?

      Comment

      • That's just the nature of any recruiting board this early, for the '12 recruiting class I didn't even post the recruiting board till nearly April. Ironically, I mentioned in my post before revising it that the board is VERY fluid. As more information comes in, the more accurate the board will be but I feel except for a few elite blue chippers the board I posted on the front page is really good....

I just noted M land a preferred walk-on Kenny Allen which will have Gibbons scholarship when he graduates. Coaches will evaluate him and their need for another scholarship kicker/punter when they see him this summer. If they go after a kicker/punter in this class, I expect we won't find out they are recruiting one till October'ish.

        • Thanks for posting that early '14 recruiting board, WM. It's a good reference point for us as the new cycle kicks into full gear after '13 signing day. Thanks, too, for keeping the lists up on this thread of '12 and '13 recruits; it makes it much easier to find than looking elsewhere as we watch these kids move up the depth charts during their careers at Michigan.

Any chance you could insert a similiar list of '11 recruits, as that was the first class that Hoke signed as our football program began to emerge from the 3 years of wandering?

          • You want the actual class or who the intial recruitng board was?

            Comment

            • Actual class in the same format as what WM has posted for the '12 and '13 classes would be nice, including star ratings. Like I said, it's a nice reference tool as I follow the progress of these kids as they climb the depth charts and get on the field on Teams 134, 135, 136, 137, etc. I've found that I often go to the top of this thread to watch for new additions and changes, but also to keep tabs (I tend to be forgetful of who came from which class until they actually get some playing time) on where we are in positional depth.

              • Best I can do.

                • '11 was the ugly hybrid class of RR's, which DB's 'process' pretty much killed and Hoke tried to save.

I'd like to backfill the past 4 classes or so and preferably do it all with the same recruiting service, not sure which I like the best; I tend to prefer 247sports player profiles over those at rivals (not updated) and scout & ESPN.

                  • Yes, everything you guys bring up is very possible for me to do, time permitting. Roster, depth chart, list of players via eligibility, etc. are things I've considered posting here.

                    • Couple TE's I'd like to add to the board, probably in place of Garrett Dickerson; Daniel Helm (Illinois) & Nic Welshar (Illinois)... I'd also add Jamarco Jones OL (Illinois) to my recruiting board. Jones like a good share of recruits on my board look like M vs OSU battles.

                      • hope the loss of Jerry Montgomery doesn't damage our recruiting too severely.

                          • Yup, he was one of M's best recruiters.

                            • Why did he take that lateral move?

                              • Maybe there's a bit more money, and perhaps an "assistant head coach" title was assigned? I know that was a favorite trick of Lloyd Carr. He gave out "promotions" by adding "assistant head coach" to his friends' job descriptions.
