    • I think we have enough RB, TE depth now ... I see no reason to take more than one of each. Even for the OL, more than three seems excessive. We sorely need a difference maker at WR, CB, and rush DE. It would seem Hand, Peppers, and Harris are crucial to this class ... though we likely won't land any of them.

        • All over twitter today.

And I don't know if I saw different tape but all I heard before I saw it how bad his tape looked then I watched it and thought it looked pretty damn good. Very accurate, above average arm strenth and very good and moving in the pocket and throwing on the run(something I think this staff was really looking for). And it's junior film at that. Honestly, looks better than Morris looked on film.

          • Don't you know that most fans know more than the UM staff does about evaluating talent?

Keep your fingers crossed that OSU gets Quinn Blanding, and you might get one of those two.

              Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

                • Fans in general think they know more than the coaches, any team, any staff, any sport.

                  • 2 QB's could happen if: 1. Gardner doesn't get his medical redshirt, but they expect him to. 2. Bellomy transfers if and when he's beaten out by Shane Morris on the depth chart.

Talent - M probably only takes one safety and two corners.

Elijah Hood RB (5*) should be added to the recruiting board as should Dravon Henry S....

                      • I expect a class size of ~20 depending upon attrition; a class that small will need to fill needs/numbers where M is doing quite well after two strong & large classes back-to-back...

How many I think they take: QB (1), RB (2), WR (2), TE (2), OL (3-4), DL (3), LB (2), DB (3) - 18+ a spot or two for blue chippers.

WM, I read a few weeks ago that Michigan's class may be as small as only 14-16 ? If so, not sure why? If you plan to build depth with "your guys", purging the roster with quality personnel makes sense.
                        ?I don?t take vacations. I don?t get sick. I don?t observe major holidays. I?m a jackhammer.?

                        • M isn't graduating many seniors at all in this class ('14). I believe I read they have 15 scholarships to offer (I've read 14, 15 & 16), they'll certainly get up to 19 pretty easily as they already signed 2 over on signing day and the coaching staff already knows at least two players are leaving. So they are at 17 to offer if my math is correct, caveat being those two leaving are seniors who won't benefit the scholarship situation. 15 can turn into 19+ pretty quickly when you have juniors and sophomores that are reserves falling behind the depth chart to guys with less eligibility.

20 is a pretty typical recruiting class size, it only sounds small as M had massive attrition during Lloyd's last couple years and during RR's tenure; not to mention the transition in playing style to Hoke too. M doesn't have a ton of 'needs' thanks to back-to-back 'elite' and large recruiting classes. This is a class that I'll measure more by its 'average' star rating, its ability to fill needs than its rankings at the recruiting services.

                          • Based on recent attrition history, 20 seems about right.

Is everyone who signed an LOI for 2012 still in the program? If that is the case, that has to be the first time in a long, long time that we have not lost a guy in the first year.

                            • Already brought it up but Devin Gardner (true senior or rs junior) is a variable in the scholarship situation, if he gets a medical redshirt that is one less scholarship for '14... 18-20 is what I'm expecting as expecting less attrition than we've typically seen...

Also of note, Kenny Allen (walk-on kicker/punter) gets Brandan Gibbons scholarship when Gibbons graduates, believe Gibbons is a 4th year, rs junior; he'd (Allen) take away one scholarship from the '15 class...

No losses to the '12 class yet, attrition we saw from RR where players before a full year into the program is rare for M. Typically it hits guys who are in their 2nd/3rd year and not being on the depth chart or falling behind guys with less eligibility.

                              • Updated recruiting board on front page, pretty realistic list of targets M has a decent chance at. Not sure what recruiting service I'll link their profiles too.
