  • Is State and Main a message board? Is it similar to Mlive?
It's the M Scout free board. It's awful. To be fair, the OSU Scout free board is awful, too. Don't peruse Mlive at all, so I can't make the comparison.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
    Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

    • Well, you have the common denominator down. There's loons everywhere, even on pay boards. Sometime's even moreso there because they think they pay $9 a month they're especially entitled.

      • It's a volume thing. Free boards have more posters so, IMO, nearly every thread will come off the rails in no more than 15 posts.

It still happens on pay sites, but not nearly as often. It can still be bad. On the OSU Scout premium, any time someone mentions how great UFM is and how lucky OSU is to have him, there are Tressel-defenders who perceive it as some slight, and that results in multiple pages of unreadable idiocy. Unfortunately, it crops up out of the blue on recruiting threads ("boy, I love the way UFM recruits and goes for OoS kids" -- "are you saying Tressel sucks?".........)

Volume is the huge advantage for this site. There are only 8 or 9 regular posters. There's 1 principle source for recruiting, though you could chip in more if you wanted. There's a few people interested in hoops. And there are your standard "free board" types, but their absolute numbers are so low, it hardly matters.

        • Michigan's 2013 commits were lured away from thoughts of Ohio, and the Buckeyes were the school that most said kept chasing even after they committed.

This is a nice read about a survey given to the Michigan '13 recruits.

For those of you wanting Fred Jackson gone take a look at question #3.

          • I think most here should look at #9.

              • Yeah the players really like the alternative uniforms.

                  • We need to change our uniforms to get recruits. USC, Alabama, and Texas never change their uniforms, and look at how terrible their recruiting classes are.

                    • The Marine Corps has worn the same dress uniforms for over 238 years. Working uniforms have been fundamentally unchanged for over 150 with minor changes usually in approved fabrics.

When you've got something good, keep it that way.

                      Tradition.

Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

                      • Speaking of recruiting, if you don't think there is major warfare going on between the M coaching staff and the osu coaching staff over recruits, your kidding yourself.

This is as much about keeping players away from the other school as it is getting them on your football team (question 14).

Also interesting that parents held the most sway in the decision of what school to attend and tied for first among reasons to attend ....... ACADEMICS.

                        • Kids 'love' the uniform changes, that's is worthy of enough to play in an alternative jersey or two each season; provided they don't look horrendous like the 'retro' ND jerseys.

                          • DE-Lawrence Marshell decommits from Ohio and visits Michigan, nice. Sorry Urbie, it appears they are "on" to you.

                            • Maybe he committed to an uncomittable offer by OSU.

                              • Deepdown he wasn't likely fast enough for the Urban Meyer "Secret Circle of Sacred Speed". You see there's speed, then there's Urban Meyer super speed.!
