  • Who de-committed from ND?

    • I sort of cured myself after the Will Campbell drama.

      • Will never lived up to his hype, but he grew up and became a man while on the team. His speech at the bust was a prime example of how a kid can grow up and prepare himself for life. Will most likely will never play a down of NFL football, but he'll have his Michigan degree, and will be another fine example of a Michigan Man.

        • I wasn't attacking him. When he said he wasn't going to Michigan, and the speculation was that he was headed to LSU, I was upset. The fact that he was nowhere near the player he was billed as has cured me of taking "expert" rankings as seriously. Conley could go to osu and never see the field.

          • I know you weren't attacking him, Rock. I just wanted to make the point that I think Will became a success at Michigan even though he may not have met the 5-star expectations of the fan base. It turned out to be good for him.

            • Yes, he did mature a great deal. He should have been red-shirted, and, of course, he was not getting the necessary coaching from the old staff.

              • Yeah, Rodriguez's staff did him no favors at all. They thought running him to death would make him a better DL. When they gave up on that idea, they shifted him to the OL.

4-5 years of being coached by Mattison would have made a big difference.

                • I'm always in here trolling but I don't see a whole lot of talk regarding RB's. What happened to the ever revolving door of one RB after another at Big Blue? Do we have any highly touted recruits coming in.

You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.

                  • That door has rusted shut since the last couple Lloyd Carr years.

Rich Rodriguez and Brady Hoke have yet to oil the hinges and get top prospects coming in again.

M has two 2013 RB recruits coming in currently: 4* Deveon Smith and Wyatt Shallman (most think he'll either be converted to FB or LB, as he lacks the "measurables" to play that position at this level. I'm not the "expert" about recruiting that others around here are, but I do like what I see on videos posted re: Smith. He reminds me a lot of Chris Perry, with a bit of Mike Hart-type inside-toughness but more speed than Hart. Decent but not great size, I think I've seen him listed around 5'10" and 210 lbs.

We're supposedly the leader for Derrick Green (supposedly a high 4* or low 5*, depending on which rating service you look at); Green is similiar in style to DeVeon Smith but bigger, in the 225-230 lb range. And then there were recent rumors that Michigan is trying to flip Ty Isaac from SC---I think it's a pipe dream, though we were supposedly the clear leader until Kiffin swooped in with whatever promises he made. Isaac is the "home-run" hitter type RB that had everyone literally drooling in anticipation. I seem to remember something mid-season about Isaac suffering an injury; no idea though of seriousness or type of injury.

                      • I'd love to have both Green and Smith, as I think they'll both be productive if our OL recruits develop as anticipated. That, though, is the key ingredient missing right now in the Michigan offense. The OL simply sucked at run-blocking this season.

Green is the #1 RB to Rivals and the #2 RB to Scout. Both have him as a five star. Sam Webb seemed to indicate that he was a very soft secret verbal at one point (his "gut" said that Green was Blue). The other two schools in his top three are Auburn and Tennessee...

We should be in good shape.

                          • Isaac is very solid with USC.

                            • WM-I agree, Isaac is at SC to stay. Like I said, nothing but a pipe dream for anyone thinking otherwise at this point, from what i've read somewhat based on how short a leash Kiffin had after their disappointing season.

Do you know anything about the injury to Isaac I referenced in my above post?

unfortunately for him, USC is not very solid with Kif.

Most here in Trojanland are hoping for a Seahawks collapse, Petey firing, and a rehiring here in SoCal.
