  • Sure. It's great we've got Smith. But that's not nearly enough.

    • Says who? It would be great if we ended up with Green, but if we don't, I fully expect Smith to be a serviceable back.

      • We're 48 hours off a very unfortunate example of why you need more than one. I'm not commenting on Smith's talent. I'm saying you need a stable, even regardless of injuries. I wouldn't demand two 4-star RBs in every recruiting class, but in this particular one, that would be more useful than at any other time I can think of in recent decades.

        • That's a good point.

            • Some have Green rated the #1 RB in the country.

              • M's needed quality backs in every class since they landed Toussaint and they best they've landed is probably DeVeon Smith. That's not good though I think RR lands Dee Hart if he stayed.

                • I wonder whether this impact's Green's decision. There seems to be a good amount of skepticism about him for how highly he's ranked. But, IMO, it's just so important he comes. And if not, are there any unocmmited top-ranked RBs out there they could land last-minute?

                  • Given what Brady Hoke was able to do in his first six months on the job, I think that he would have had a solid chance with Hart too.

                    • AJ Barker is gone from Minnehaha. Supposedly, he does not have to sit out a year, because he was a walk-on. Any chance Brady Hoke would offer him a scholarship?

                      • I don't know. Reading his twitter postings he sounds like somewhat of a nut job.

                        • M doesn't have the scholarships to offer unless it was after signing day.

                            ???

Why would we not have at least one available with Dawson's departure if we didn't replace him?

                            • Because they already are overbooked at the moment and are counting on attrition to sign 25.

                              • We only have 22 in the fold right now, and all that's left on the board is two guys who are 50/50 at best and a longshot. Why not take a guy who can contribute immediately a position of desperate need?
