Dunno. I'm not sure how much Smith has camped, and his high school competition is mediocre-at-best. There's been an on-going debate about whether OSU should take Green amongst "recruitniks." A lot of them think he's overrated.

In any event, it was more to point out that Hokattison has a good one, at least in the eyes of the OSU staff, already in the bag.

I think people see Smiths upside as really limited by his speed.

Yup, he's not the prototype 6'1", 225+ lb back Hoke is looking for that can gain a lot of extra yardage but he's my favorite back M landed since Toussaint.

A bit of interesting stuff in this morning's recruiting wind....

EJ Levenberry is apparently going to take a couple of visits, even though he is "committed" to FSU. According to his dad, there has been some lack of communication from FSU's linebacker coach which has them a bit upset. Levenberry wants to take visits to Oklahoma and Michigan.

Now for the real fun. According to The Wolverine, Brady Hoke will not allow Levenberry to come visit Michigan on an official (Michigan paid) visit. If he wants to visit, he will have to do so out of his own pocket. Hoke is reported to have said that he has 23 committed prospects now, and to extend an offer for an official visit would mean that he would have to lift an offer from one of his current commitments. He is unwilling to do that.

That's a very good sign re Treadwell and Green. Or, possibly, it's a sign that M desperately needs to take another WR and anothe RB.

M really likes the LB's they have in '12 and '13. Need isn't there... They are also are in on some very good ones for '14 too...

Need at RB & WR is much higher. M could've used 30 scholarships this year.

Chance Stewart ('14) QB off the board to Wisconsin, M is still evaluating QB's and deciding who to offer. They are debating between Kizer, Stewart and Key supposedly.

Yeah, OSU's LB class for 2014 could be killer good. It'd be nice to finish 2013 with Mitchell, but the 2014 group should be spectacular.

It's an interesting thing the way OSU and, apparently, M are going about QB recruiting. I know UFM is basically holding tryouts for 2 spots. Kizer, Drew Barker, Caleb Henderson and this Duckworth kid and maybe one more. The sense I get is they're choosing not recruiting, but we'll see.

I think so too. His dad has been on record about his kid possibly getting his degree from Michigan, but I get the impression from EJ himself that he's more attracted to FSU. I think this may be an attention-grabbing scheme orchestrated by the dad to get FSU's coaching staff to pay more attention to his kid.

Either way, I like Hoke's response.

Stewart was M's if they wanted him, not sure if they lost out on him for good. He had M #2 despite not having an offer... M's coaches preferred Key, Kizer and another name who escapes me. Stewart is a guy I like a lot but was a fallback guy for this staff...

With Shane Morris on board in '13, they can be very picky about who they take in '14.
