  • I'd love to see Denard have a 300 yard rushing game against bammy. Very unlikely but it would be legendary.

    • we didn't have much of a chance against Satan ... now have none.
Well, lets just play the game anyway and see what happens.

Personally, I think Bama has a lot more to lose than we do.

Thanks. What would be the SOP if either Green or Treadwell were wanting to commit?

          • Jump up and down in celebration and worry about which player will suffer from typical attrition later.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
            Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

            • I still don't understand why Jeremy Jackson can't give up his scholarship if it comes to that. He got the scholarship because his Dad is a coach, and certainly Fred can afford to pay for Jeremy. If a jam-up occurs, giving up his scholarship may be the biggest contributiion he can give this year.

              • Informative piece in the NYT today about the PSU transfers. First explained all the rules ..... WM has kept us up to date ...... and went on to state that schools are contacting most of the PSU players and offering scholly's (picking over the dead carcass .... no shame). Reportedly the top picks are getting inundated with offers and so are their handlers (whoever that might be .... parents, coaches, etc.).

The sane ones are taking there time. Silas Redd is mentioned as one who is thinking about it but undecided. Not unexpectedly, PSU coaching staff is scrambling but using the meme that, if you stay, you have the opportunity of rebuilding the program. Sounds good but for those with the talent to showcase and don't give a crap about a degree enroute to the NFL, that will likely mean nothing.

My guess is that transfers won't be as prevalent as some initally thought for a lot of different reasons.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

                • Our staff has presumably noted Redd's indecision and the team's RB situation. If they like him, I hope they're pulling out all the stops.

                  • I read somewhere that Redd is openly saying that he wants to be a "one-and-done" guy, which would work out perfectly for Michigan.

                      • C'mon, Silas -- Cowboys Stadium in a few months is a pretty perfect national spotlight...

                        • I've read where Redd has interest in going to usc and the feeling is mutual. Will he be allowed to transfer to another sanctioned team?

I think the article alluded to that and Redd would be allowed to go to another sanctioned team such as USC as long as the number of scholarships would not exceed that stipulated in the sanction. So, if USC was under their scholarship limit there would be nothing to prevent them from giving it to Redd.

                            • From Tremondous:

"They built a very good relationship playing along side each in a few different camps/tournaments over the summer and have stated how well they play off each other on the field. Douglas also plans to enroll early next spring, which is a blessing in disguise. This allows the coaches to pro-rate his commitment back to the 2012 class and therefore (possible) freeing up an additional spot in this already talented class."

Does this mean we have a bit more breathing room with Green/Treadwell?

                              • Hoke isn't going to actively go after any of Penn State's current players. The only way he will talk to any of them is if they call him first. Even players who are only "committed" to Penn State have been off limits for Hoke, unless they call him first.

He's not a vulture. He won't be out there trying to pick away at any carcasses. He will leave that to other programs.
