  • ND & M filled up at OL; which were supposedly his first two choices.

    • What is the deal with all 7 of Michigan's verbals dropping in the new Rivals 100?

      • Committed guys are less likely to go to camps than uncomitted; those not committed generally rise as they get more exposure.

        • While I don't doubt that's true, I do doubt that's why M recruits were dropped by Rivals. And I only say that b/c I'm sure McCray dropped, but he was way high -- still is. Dymonte probably dropped, but they don't like Dymonte. Not sure if Shane dropped -- but he camps everywhere. Butt wasn't at top 100 player, IMO, so his drop wouldn't surprise me.

They have finally got Jaylon Smith right. F ND. And I think they got Anzalone right -- well, overrated a tad, but more right than not being in the top 250. F Mr. Anazalone (and ND). Bah.

          Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

          • Yet M's targets that are still left on the recruiting board, generally trended up.

            • Yeah, they LOVE Derrick Green. Wow. I wasn't a huge Ty Isaac fan -- thought is competition was a bit weak -- but I liked him more than Green. He's now the #1 RB!

              • Isaac is #1 because he committed to USC, ... the "Running Back university"

                • Isaac isn't #1 on Rivals. Derrick Green is.

What's interesting about that is M looked at both of them and Hoke plainly made Green Plan B. UFM looked at Green and basically has him as Plan C, if that.

                  • Oh, my bad. I thought they rated Isaac #1. I'd heard that was about to happen.

                    • Yet M has Jordan Wilkins higher on their board than Green...

                      • Assigning ordinals 1-250 to high school juniors is absurd. Reading anything into minor movements of them is even worse.

                        • Recruiting sure is boring when you get your class mostly wrapped up before April.

                            • Internet ate my last lengthy update. Anyway, here is a smaller version...

Maurice Hurst Jr NT is visiting this weekend or next. He'll be on commit watch at that time as before he even had an offer, he said an offer from M might cause him to commit there. He's got an impressive offer list for a 3-star...

Henry Poggi DT (4 to 5 star) is expected to decide in the next month. IMO one of the more important recruits left on the board, he's capable of giving M a DL that'll be strong for the next 5 years. It's a M vs Alabama battle, both sides confident but Bama is confident is confident about every recruit. M thought to lead early but Bama caught up...

Leon McQuay III CB/S (4*) is about M's only DB left on their recruiting board. M is recruiting him as a boundary corner while most other programs are recruiting him as a safety.

                              • Tons of offers out already for class of '14 recruits for M, M is sending offers to kids all over the country and aren't honing in on local kids yet. They are casting a wide net and seeing what elite recruits are interested before sending offers out to midwest recruits who might jump at an offer.
