IIRC the big ten allows only one or two and a max of 25.

NCAA has a rule of 25 LOI's per class but there are ways around that; e.g. counting early enrolees towards the previous class and grayshirting (delaying a kid to start school till January)... SEC agreed to a limit of 28 LOI's per class 2-3 years ago... This was done to stop some teams from signing kids who couldn't qualify and sending them to JUCO's to get qualified...

B10 rule is how many open scholarships (as of signing day) + 3; so if a programs has 25 open, they can sign up to 28...

As for M, they have 17 available scholarships so they can sign 20 today plus whatever attrition they have till signing day '12. If you expect them to lose 4-5 kids they can sign 24-25 in February.

I don't know where you others are getting your information but TR is saying he's decided [which should be good news for M] but just possibly delaying his announcement till all his family/friends can be there.

Thanks for clarification wm..Mattison will have some absolute monsters in AA in a few years mark my word. As much as I'd like to have those open scholarships available this year I hope there's little attrition. Fifth year seniors and guys like k grady should get a chance to buy in and be part of the team. I think we will see very few guys leaving this team.

Terry Richardson just told Sam Webb that he's going to Michigan.

And this coaching staff just keeps plowing forward. Another commit where MSU was a factor, but the player decided on Michigan. And, another commit where Mattison played a huge role.

Its nice to have top players committing to Michigan again, especially those within Michigan, and in the Midwest.

Nice pickup for Michigan. We have numbers at CB, but no elite talent. Richardson fills that hole nicely.

And Richardson will come in and challenge right away. We're going to see a bit of a youth movement over the next few seasons, but it will be a good youth movement. Lots of good young talent are going to be making their way to Ann Arbor, and its going to be fun watching them grow up in front of us.

And it's going to be painful at times. I think that 2012 and 2013 could be some really rough years, unless Mattison or Hoke can get a lot more than expected out of the 3* slot receivers and tweeners on defense who were recruited in the Rodriguez era.

It is official ....... apparently he committed on Saturday but wanted his entire family to be present for an announcement this morning. Said the M staff pushed him hard at the spring game and that turned him off but seeing the group the coaches are putting together (including two of his HS team mates) he didn't want to lose out. TR is the fifth 4* commit in the 2011 class.

......... and, BTW, in straight up, head to head recruiting battles M 6, MSU 0. M 2 (Ross and Richardson), osu 2 (Kalis and Dunn), and Dunn may still fall but not likely.
