    • Ok, Geo ... that made me laugh ... I actually got it as soon as I saw it....

        • Can't take credit for pic, found it on another forum. I had to laugh as well when I saw it.

          • I told you this would happen several weeks ago -- on this weekend, nonetheless. Heh.

And, of course, Isaac is leagues better than Smith. There is no conceivable fucking way that M would not take Isaac. None. Zero. Zip. If, in some weird retarded world, that is the case, then I couldn't be happier.

            • Agree that Isaac is the type you can't turn down, hopefully the staff feels the same way about him and Levenberry. I like Smith more than most, I've got him pegged as a 4-star with a comparison to Fitzgerald Toussaint. He's a tougher and bigger running back than Toussaint but probably a touch less explosive and less top end speed. Good balance, vision, ability to shed tackles.

I generally agree with this assessment. Smith is not an immediate contributor, but in 2-3 years, he'll be a very good back between the tackles. The only knock on him is his speed, which he just doesn't have. I would liken him to Dunn, but a bit smaller and maybe, MAYBE, a bit slower (Dunn isn't a blazer, either). He's a solid player, and, IMO, a huge pickup for M who really needs a "between the tackles" back after last year's miss. This is one where, IMO, the need is what makes it a very good, if predictable, commitment for M.

And, FYI, the Scout guys love Smith.

Also, as I've said, my biggest knock on him is competition level (same league as Toussaint). This should be an interesting year for Smith -- Howland loses a ton and probably won't be as good as they usually are. It will be interesting to see Smith run behind a less good OL.

                  • This sounds like bad news on Isaac.

                    • Orndoff (sp?) commits to Pitt (the de-commit from Wisky), he would've been TE #3. I'd personally rather keep that scholarship for the 3rd TE and spend it elsewhere but understand the coaches feel the need for another TE...

re: Isaac, still plenty of room to add him. Every staff usually saves 2-3 scholarships for elite kids and Isaac is a talent you'd take regardless of need or numbers.

                      • I thought they were waiting to let Smith commit. I took the commit as an indicator that they don't think that Isaac is coming.

                        • That info was an insiders speculation on what they expected of the situation at running back. I can't see ANYONE passing up Isaac or Green...

M picked up a preferred walk-on at TE for '12; Quinton Mandle. 6'5", 225 lb's... Really productive receiver in high school. He'll get a scholarship for '12 with all the senior attrition as will quite a few other walk-ons like Brink, Glasgow, etc...

                          • I thought I read yesterday that Sam said that Mich was still in very good shape with Issac??

Seems to me that Isaac and Smith could easily be the new Bush/Lendale White...
