  • If that is actually a violation, and it probably is, you can see why no one takes the NCAA and their mission seriously. It is joke.

If I recall, there was some discussion last summer about revising rules to better accommodate the impact and use of social media. In other words, not having ridiculous rules like this but, alas, I doubt anyone seriously looked at how stupid some of the rules the NCAA has because they were busy trying to figure out how to AVOID punishing programs whose players took large sums of money to sign, $500 handshakes for big hits and unlimited tattoos for memorabilia.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

    • It gets silly when you think about Brionte and Dymonte. They shouldn't talk at Thanksgiving!

Don't know if this would be a reason, but does a signed guy who doesn't qualify affect the APR?

        • I would be surprised if the NCAA did much with this "violation" despite M being on probation. I would think Hoke and Co would need to reeducate the team about these Social media violations. The fact that you can't say congrats is stupid.

          • Supposedly M is 'full' at LB and told Alex Anzalone LB such and won't visit this weekend Obviously someone either committed or they feel really good about who they have on their board will commit; obvious candidates are Gedeon, Levenberry... Some of the names coming in this weekend...

            *Ty Isaac RB...
            *Shane Morris QB...
            *Jourdan Lewis CB...
            *Gareon Conley CB (M leader)...
            *Zack Bradshaw WR...
            *Colin McGovern OL...
            *Christian LaCouture DL...

            • re: '14 LB'ers... Yes, M is loaded in-state for them. 2 are at Cass Tech (William White & Deon Drake) and a 3rd is going to transfer there (Gary Hosey); all top 200 type recruits or better...

With Chance Stewart QB, Drake Harris WR, Damon Webb WR, Malik McDowell DE, Connor Hayes OL, Lorenzo Collins RB; class of '14 looks to be a really good one and this is before a lot recruits blow-up at the junior camps.

              • re: Khalid Hill

He's more H-back/FB than tight end imo, coaches saw that as a 'need' so they took one in Hill. That is also why they are willing to take another TE if its one they really like like Scott Orndoff (Pennsylvania)..

I saw yesterday that one of their offered TE's (Jacob Matuska, a Cesspool ohio kid) gave ND his verbal commitment. Not sure how much mutual interest there ever was between him and U of M, though.

                  • Matuska is a really good one, not quite at the level of Breneman as a receiver.

                    • Did M offer Matuska? I agree that he is good, but I like oher TEs better. And his level of competition is subpar.

As for Anzalone, I don't think M was a real player for him anyway. But, it would indicate they are done at LB.

Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
                      Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

                      • Don't forget we also have Sione Houma. That makes five TE/FB types committed so far, plus Ricardo Miller.

If M is full at linebacker and Gedeon is committed, does that mean that Levenberry is being recruited as a WDE?

                        • I think that they decided to take two LB'ers plus Levenberry, or just two linebackers.

                          • You get the feeling the team could be 90% linebackers and offensive linemen...that would be an interesting 2-deep

                            • OSU can trade ya some skill players for an OL! Though, I suspect both are going to be more than happy with who they get.

Maybe even Ty Isaac for you guys this weekend.

                              • Anzalone was going to visit this weekend (not PSU) if not for M filling its quota at LB, he was very much in play for M...

For skill players M is targeting Ty Isaac at running back but will likely take DeVeon Smith's commitment if Isaac doesn't jump on-board soon. At receiver M is in on a bunch of guys that aren't very close to committing; LaQuon Treadwell, Kevin Gladney, Eldridge Massington, James Onwulua and a few recruits from California who probably won't see Ann Arbor till the fall.
