  • Michigan is a very, very good school for teaching stuff, though.

    • And, as they say, you can teach speed. :-)

      Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

      • Your school can't. Ours can. Trey Burke's taking a summer course in height, too.

          • I didn't write "teach", I wrote "improve". And there are exercises that can improve speed. Will it turn him into a blazing 100 meter champion? No, but if it is enough to make his first and second step quicker/faster enabling him to get a jump on the defender, that would be fine.

            • Dukes will be the tall version of John Kolesar. Believe it.

                • Gotta have those guys that make the tough catch and move the chains.

I wonder if he'd ever move into the pass-catching TE role? What a huge mismatch that would be, typically against a LB. I think of guys like Graham, Gates and Gronkowski (holy shit, all those G's...even Gonzalez) and wonder if Dukes may be headed in that direction?

They are such a mismatch and if they find those open areas within the D they can do some serious downfield damage.

                    Wasn't that Paul Jokisch?

                      • EJ Levenberry LB (4-star) names M his leader and cites Hoke as the reason, more at link:

There is one thing that Brady Hoke, Jimbo Fisher and Nick Saban have in common that E.J. Levenberry and his family like: discipline.

                        • Coach Hoke is the reason Michigan will become a dominate force again in the near future. And Brandon for pulling the trigger on him!!

                            • None of those available in the midwest. Henry Poggi (4-star, Maryland) is the highest rated DT M is recruiting. After him, I don't see a lot of guys M is in on. What some people forget is that its still really early in recruiting, there will be lots of new names & offers when this class performs at camps...

M got its blue chip NT in the last class in Ondre Pipkens; need for DT's imo is overblown. They'll need only a couple interior d-lineman. M has 3 'interior' defensive line positions (NT, 3-tech DT, 5-tech SDE) and last class signed Ondre Pipkens, Tom Strobel, Chris Wormley, Matt Godin & Willis Henry. M desperately needed numbers in the interior d-line last season and got them, the desperate need for them is gone if the '12 class lives up to its billing.

                              • Isn't Poggi more of a 3-tech guy?

There look to be a lot of eggs in the Pipkins basket at NT.

I'd like to see us pick up another guy in this class, even if he's a meh 3-star type.
