UM Football Recruiting - by WM Wolverine

This is a sticky topic.

Still a bunch of coin flips: Kozan (M vs Iowa) & Reeves (M vs Ohio) & Diamond (M vs Arkansas). Grant sounds like a Wolverine... The former two could decide tonight...
Diamond is the one who has kept in contact with Arkansas insiders more than M insiders, which only worries me some... Willie Henry DT (3*) is probably a SD decision.Last edited by WM Wolverine; January 29, 2012, 06:27 PM.

I can't remember a season where I was as interested and excited about recruiting as I am this season. It almost feels like Christmas used to feel to me as a kid, as the last few days tick away, the excitement and anticipation just continue to build!

WM:
This is a post from Bill Greene on Henry. It's premium, so you guys do with this post what you will (I generally only paraphrase premium stuff -- but this is a lot to paraphrase):
1- First off, I can confirm he is on campus [M]. And I was told he has not committed to this point. I do not know if he has an offer, and maybe Allen or Sam would know that.
2- He is being hosted by Frank Clark, and much like I told you last year about Frank, Willie Henry is a great kid. Gets it in the classroom. Gets it in the weight room. Gets it on the field.
3- Didn't get the pub and hype of Alex Pace, but might turn out to be the better college player. Willie is raw as a prospect, but he is coachable. He has a big body and a quick first step off the ball. I imagine Michigan sees him as a defensive tackle, but he could play defensive end or even offensive line.
4- He was relatively unknown as a junior, and his team did not make the playoffs this year, so he lost out on a lot of the usual Glenville hype.
5- Dave Berk and I saw him early in the year and we were both like "Who the heck is that?" When Allen, Dave and I had our final Ohio ranking meeting, we talked about how wasn't getting the offers he deserved. Where most Glenville kids get over-hyped and over-ranked, this kid fell through the cracks.
6- Would I take him at Michigan over Pipkins, Wormley, Strobel, and those guys? No. Would I take him as one of the last guys in the class, with a chance to develop him? Absolutely. He has the frame, quick feet and a great attitude. He doesn't have a lot of experience.
7- Like I said, he has not committed yet. But with Frank Clark as his host, he will commit if he has an offer, I would guess.
8- I'm hopeful of tracking him down tomorrow and getting his thoughts
His take was what I vaguely remembered of him -- pretty quick off the ball. Problem was Glenville lost every "big-time" game they played, so their undefeated Senate record wasn't enough to get them in the playoffs -- so they were a bit forgotten.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

Bummer about Reeves if the twitter news is true. Hate to lose out on a 4* DB.
Not surprised after his good friend went to osu. Tough sell to get him to swing to Michigan.
Of course, mgoblog threads are in a bit of a melt-down. Not epically so, but bad enough to make me bail on the thread in about 30 seconds. That place is awful.
