These things have a tendency to sort themselves out after they get on campus and the coaches can compare them right next to each other.Atlanta, GA

From what I've read urbie was late for last nights in home visit and did not go well. GM to visit tonight.
Anyway, I'm always told by "insiders" that recruiting is relationships. M has been on Reeves forever and it just seems to me they're pushing harder. Don't get me wrong, OSU wants him -- they flew 3 coaches out for a visit yesterday. But, the vibe I got was that they always want Cam more and Reeves sort of fell into play for them a bit.
And, FTR, OSU does need help in the secondary, but it's not immediate help and I think they're looking at the class of 2013 as providing it. I'd still like Reeves, though. Kid can play.Last edited by iam416; January 24, 2012, 09:52 AM.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Rivals is debunking the "bad visit by osu" claims as well. According to Reeves the visit "went well" and they are waiting for Coach Mattison's visit tonight. Reeves will decide later this week.
CB is an area of need, and we could really use a talented player like Reeves. I'd love to have him, but its not wrist-slashing time if we don't.
Someone asked why I was optimistic about Diamond. I'm going back to last year when his teammate signed with Michigan. He was quoted as saying, "I'll join you next year", or words to that effect. I think Diamond has deliberately kept his recruiting talk to himself, but wants to come to Michigan. Will Campbell pulled the same thing in his recruitment, by deflecting comments, and just going silent at times.
Anyway, a finish of Garnett and/or Diamond, Reeves, Grant and/or Kozan would be a great way to top off a very good class.
Not sure why so many recruiting "experts" see Garnett going to Stanford. From everything I've read, Stanford has very little reason to be optimistic."in order to lead America you must love America"

I'm surprised Wright isn't heading to Rutgers(of course, there's still time for him to change his mind, or even get kicked out of school again...). That's an interesting get for Colorado-- their class is comprised of fairly ordinary regional recruits and two highly-rated East Coast cornerbacks, since they just landed Kenneth Crawley last week.

I thought you guys might appreciate this (from Bill Greene on OSU Scout site -- personally, my favorite "insider" and possibly the only OSU one worth premium membership):
I feel good about OSU and Reeves...........
But, Hoke and Mattison are VERY, VERY good at this stuff. This isn't like going up against Mark Dantonio for a recruit.Last edited by iam416; January 24, 2012, 11:53 AM.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Yep. I'll be honest -- if Dodson goes as it should, I'll be pretty happy. I'd love to add Reeves, Neal and Marcus....and Diamond and Cox would be plusses, too. But by-and-large, the class has been salvaged and, if Dodson signs, the most pressing needs (OL/LB) sufficiently addressed.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Latter part of his career, Lloyd couldn't close a recruiting class. He'd get the guys early that were always interested in M. But the guys that needed extra attention, Lloyd was always losing those battles and were the bridesmaids for countless blue chip recruits...
I'd like to know why Mattison ever left in the first place in a lateral move to ND? M past decade might've been quite a bit nicer if they'd had kept coordinators like Mattison and Terry Malone...
