  • Seriously, who gives a shit about recruiting until we get a new coach? It's all meaningless until then. Just another set of warm bodies in winged helmets who will get blown out by OSU and lose their bowl game for four years, assuming they don't all transfer out because they wake up and realized that Harbaugh sucks.

    • M has managed to shrewdly use Covid to avoid a 2-7 season including at least 2 more otal shellackings AND has landed the 2nd best class in the B10 -- by far.

At this point, it's hard not to applaud the M decision-makers, trust their wisdom and continue moving full speed ahead with HARBAUGH!!!!!

        • Worthy they could lose, but Edwards I'm expecting is blue. Both are difference makers.

That's true. I was assuming that CADE!!!! and Milton would have both been on the shelf for that one.

Edwards doesn't really have any other choices. His top 3 was OSU, UGa and M, and I know OSU is full up, I think UGa is and I know M isn't. He's going to M. 100%.

Worthy is staying the course, too.

Overall, about what I expected -- and that's actually pretty good given their efforts to Thelma & Louise the program over the last 6 weeks.

                  • Maybe he's actually education-focused, rather than NFL focused.

It doesn't matter. He can enter the transfer portal next fall if he's not happy in AA.

Probably. Hey, some kids still choose the school rather than the coach. Maybe he actually likes Ann Arbor.

But with the advent of the transfer portal, any LOI signature is only good for one season. He could be long gone next year at this time.

In fact, my biggest question today is, which current RB (s) will enter the portal first, given today's news?

                        • Never really need to question why an in-state kid stays in-state. Will Johnson is going to do the same next year. DPJ did the same a few years ago.

                          • He likes >>>> Jay Harbaugh Amid the slew of generic recruitment questions, Edwards was asked about Jay Harbaugh, Michigan’s running backs coach and his lead recruiter. Instantly, energy returned to his voice. “What makes him unique, he’s just a very great guy,” Edwards said. That afternoon, he had called Jay to discuss the game and reinforce pointers to help with his yards after contact. In those moments, he turns to Jay.

“Over the four years he’s been recruiting me, we’ve been every single year, we’ve just been going up and up and up as this relationship has been going on,” Edwards said then. Without Jay, Edwards wouldn’t be heading to Ann Arbor. That’s the power of the 31-year-old head coach’s son for whom the cries of favoritism ring so loud that his Twitter bio reads, “I relish a good nepotism tweet.”

Standing beneath the floodlights at Oak Park High School, Donovan Edwards’s smile turned stoic. The topic of conversation had shifted from West Bloomfield’s season-opening 39-0 win to his recruiting process. Edwards knew it was coming. Recruiting questions are part of the territory when you’re a consensus top-five running back in the country, playing 30 miles […]
