I'm glad that the Alabama bagmen chose to spend their money flipping Jordan Battle from tosu instead of Hill.

Dwan Mathis flipped to Georgia. Interesting journey...Last edited by Rocky Bleier; December 19, 2018, 12:59 PM.I'll let you ban hate speech when you let me define hate speech.

Dwan called Sparty and asked if he could get back in. Then went to UGa. OSU wasn't go to allow him to come in early (allegedly because of grades). But, it also has to do with Fields, as irrational as that may be. So, he goes to a school where he's the second QB in the CLASS. Lol.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

Wow, can't believe Sparty said no! Well, I can because he obviously treated them like they were second tier, but that's a kid they could definitely use. Georgia is a great landing space, but they recruit 5 star QBs. Look for him to transfer in the future. Should have stuck with Sparty. They have put QBs in the NFL the last few years.I'll let you ban hate speech when you let me define hate speech.

All you fuckers need to shut up about bagman. There aren't any..... or if there are any they aren't players in the Battle, Harrison and Hill discussions going on in this thread.
What IS affecting the decisions of top talent is the handlers these talented HS recruits seek out and get advice and information from. The existence of this network is all very convenient for CFB programs. Handlers talk to their sources - some of them the CFB program recruiters and coaches themselves - to get information, recruiters and coaches talk to the handlers about their recruiting targets. Meanwhile the coaches and recruiters are working the recruits with inside information; the kids think they're getting good advice/inside info from the handlers ..... it's one big game.
Actually, I think everyone benefits - both the CFB programs and the kids get straight scoop, albeit filtered through the handlers who may or may not have $motivation to recommend one or another course of action. I would imagine handlers are getting hand-shake agreements with the kids and their families with whom they are talking for future representation with the NFL when that time comes.
The most important thing is that in the current discussion the programs and kids we're talking about and most likely any boosters who might potentially be involved remain clear of accusations that they are offering inducements to recruits. They're clearly not but I suspect the handlers are getting something of value from sources connected in some way to the CFB programs themselves, including boosters, once or twice removed, which they may or may not pass on to recruits and their families ...... completely indirectly and untraceable back to the program or the coaches/program recruiters.
Let me be clear, I have nothing that tells me $$$ are involved in the network I'm talking about. I suspect they are but that's all it is ..... suspicion. But I am absolutely certain that the folks that I call handlers and I am alleging are involved with the placement of the nation's top HS football talent exist and have an impact on where a kid chooses to go or not. Period.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

There's been way too much BPONE at mgoboard for me these days. Some of it has crept over here. Most of it stemmed from word the Dax Hill had flipped to the Tide and then 5* and future NT extraordinaire Aubrey Solomon transferred.
In isolation those were not good things. But M's 2019 recruiting class is solid and DT depth is fine although it might dictate a 4-3 front for Brown as there ins't a Mo Hurst type dominant NT anymore with Solomon's departure. Planned base 4-3 switch by DB/JH? .... and one has to wonder if that was the message to Solomon. Frankly, I really don't care. He gone.
Right now, M's 2019 class is ranked #7 nationally and # 1 in the BIG. I don't think M finishes that way (talent, your comment on this take?). Of course, Bama and the Dogs are #1,2 - fucking $EC, cars, dollars, loaded ATM cards and $100/h part time jobs ..... common practice down there. Win at all costs - something Dax Hill and his Dad (along with his handlers) figured out was Lord Saban's way of doing things. Shameful shit.

As recruiting wraps up for the class 2017, I think it's appropriate to take a moment and recognize the incredible run that Alabama's on right now. This year will mark the unprecedented 7th straight year in which Alabama will finish with the #1 recruiting class in the nation (based on 247 composite). It's just a testament to the hard work of the coaching staff, fans, and boosters to keep the program running at such a high level both on and off the field.
It's crazy that elite recruits are consistently willing to sign with Alabama even at positions of extreme depth, knowing they will likely have to sit for a few years before playing. It's even crazier that so many high-round draft eligible juniors return to play their senior years (e.g. Ryan Anderson, OJ Howard, Jonathan Allen, Reuben Foster, Tim Williams, Eddie Jackson), forgoing the potential of earning millions of dollars for the opportunity to play one more year for free (as well as receive a coveted degree from the University, ranked as the 103rd (tie) best university in the country by US News & World Report's 2017 rankings).
These guys are just doing things the "right" way, and you have to commend them for it (although it is a tad ironic that their inability to recruit a QB likely cost them the national championship this year).
Anyway, as an homage to Alabama's recruiting prowess over the past few years, here's a photo recap of some of the athletes that have propelled them to the #1 ranking. (Sourced as of 1/27/17 from the public Instagram accounts of 2016 rostered players only):

It's refreshing to know that Dax Hill's dad wasn't lying when he spoke about the reasons they originally chose Michigan. Sam Webb talked to Stanley Edwards, who had befriended Mr. and Mrs. Hill, shortly after Dax made his original commitment. Edwards raved about the Hills, saying they were high quality people who weren't the typical parents who were looking for attention or some extra benefit to get their son to sign a letter of intent. I was shocked when Dax flipped, though I figured he got caught up in Alabama's success after watching them beat Georgia.Last edited by Rocky Bleier; December 19, 2018, 05:34 PM.I'll let you ban hate speech when you let me define hate speech.
