The upshot of this recruiting class is not so much that it's probably going to go down as at least a Top 5 class, maybe #3 or 4 depending on how UGA closes, but that it puts Harbaugh, and in particular Chris Partridge, right up there with meyer and Saban as names these HS kids, and maybe more importantly - their coaches and people, are going to know.
In terms of meeting needs it's good. Missing out on Wilson hurt the OL, a big need, but, then again, you never know about these guys. The 3 stars could turn out to be good. I like Frey's capabilities to develop these guys. He was the best football coach M had during the RR era.
As well, M picked up the nations #1 punter, supposedly, in Brad Robbins today. Never underestimate the need for a good punter and M needs one.
A good day for M football. Now ........ nothing for 6 months. Aside, of course for all the spring game hype and predictions of BT CCGs, play-off bids, NC's and the like. I'll be in Italy in July for my daughter's wedding. Too bad she didn't want to be an April bride so I could see about the hype myself and report on it in subdued tones.
Planning on making a bunch of games this fall including MSU and osu, among others. Then we'll see if the hype is deserved.Last edited by Jeff Buchanan; February 1, 2017, 04:26 PM.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

Next year's needs won't be many, but the need for elite OT prospects will be paramount. I'm thinking at least two top 150-ish guys plus at least one "program" guy. A game changing RB becomes a need now too. 5* or bust. Beyond that, I don't know. A space-eating NT prospect would be great, but not critical. We'll probably need another C and OG prospect to back fill guys in the last couple of classes who won't be redshirting. The last two defensive classes have been absolutely loaded. Next year is a good year to take a "project" or a "program" guy at QB. I assume that we'll take a tight end after taking none in this year's class.Last edited by Hannibal; February 1, 2017, 04:37 PM.

I think Brown has his NT in Solomon assuming he get's a little bigger and stronger.
Depending on what goes down with the offense in 2017 and how Dylan McCaffrey fits in to this evolving idea of spreadyness for Harbaughffense will sort of define the 2018 QB type that gets recruited.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished.
