The mgoblog writeup is odd. Doesn't impact Dunn's recruitment, worse balance and cutting ability than Anthony Thomas, but plenty fast enough to be a great ST gunner or returner. But what low-priority positions those are in comparison to the highly-rated OL, CB, WR or other prospects UM could have taken instead.

But guys like Sione Houma, Allan , aj Williams and Jeremy Clark this year fit that description.
Houma - Georgia Tech, Utah, Washington
Gant - Illinois, Stanford, West Virginia
AJ Williams - Arkansas, Illinois, Michigan State
Ramon Taylor - Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois
Tamani Carter was a Minnesota commit.Last edited by Rocky Bleier; November 8, 2011, 12:07 PM.I'll let you ban hate speech when you let me define hate speech.

This all assumes that Drake is being recruited to play running back. I see him as being a special teams specialist, as a returner and gunner. The guy is apparently very fast, and UM has not had that type of player on special teams in several years. MGoblog has a very good breakdown of him up.

That's a good question. Sam Webb was really trumpeting Drake Johnson. He was alo doing the same last year with Thomas Rawls. I don't think either of them are elite backs. Makes me wonder why Michigan can't seem to attract the top backs in the country anymore.I'll let you ban hate speech when you let me define hate speech.

I've never heard of the kid before. I hate to rip on a HS kid, but it sounds like another Rich Rod commitment to me. Unheard of RB that nobody of any significance wanted. So, we offered him. This one leaves me scratching my bald head.
Only thing that I can conclude is that things must have soured with B. Dunn. If true, that's too bad."in order to lead America you must love America"

linesman liked Rawls a lot too, but he's done little with the few chances he's gotten this year. Sadly, due to the shotgun-marriage offense, it would probably take an elite back like Dunn to transcend what's ongoing now, and it's hard to evaluate the current backs.

Does seem like an odd time to be picking up a 2 star when the class is almost full and they're still making eyes at various 4 and 5 stars. On the other hand, a Steve Emtman story ran here last week. He was a 2 star, oh the shame of it all.
