Well that's a shame. And the second year in a row we lost out on a very needed and high-ranking tackle, including Devery Hamilton last year. Double-extra top priority next year, unless there's a good surprise this year.

How bad, exactly, is M's returning OL depth? You're not really counting on a true frosh to play?

So, it's Bredeson and Cole. Then maybe Newsome. So, you only have to fill in 3 spots. Onwenu has to be 1 of those. And you have to have a couple program OTs that can step in and be adequate. I mean, DREVNO!

To play? There's a 50/50 chance that we'll need one to eventually start. I'm thinking a minimum of two burn a redshirt. I was hoping that Wilson would be one of them. We need numbers and high quality in this class.

Michigan's offensive linemen in 2015 and 2016:

Newsome -- Good 4* guy, but career is in question after injury
Ulizio -- 2* guy that was taken away from UConn late by Harbaugh.
Runyan -- a middling 3* guy who is only on the team because of his last name
Bredeson -- probable future starter
Onwenu -- probably future starter
Spanellis -- 3* recruit

Those are your 2019 juniors and seniors. Bleh. The only guy who could be a fifth year senior in 2020 is Spanellis. We can't afford to keep having these huge roster holes. That's why we need at least four big time blue chippers in this class and a few more depth guys on top of that. Filiaga is the last guy on the board and Herbert is probably gone.

IMHO Wilson was our second most important recruit behind DPJ. That loss might be a devastating one.

I try not to get all breathless over HS recruiting but I know one thing: if you aren't winning on the OL and DL, you're not going to win a lot of big games. You'll see too many 2 loss seasons that won't get you into the CFP. Don't care about how many skill players you have.

So, Wilson, IMO, was a must get ..... per Berra, well, you know.........HARBAUGH!!! ain't done with those evil jive turkeys in GA.
