I know. Maybe they will grow on me. Last year's game was a dud and this year's will be a dud as well because of Penn State and ohio getting busted for their transgressions.

I think the site of the game is part of the problem. If they rotated the site to a home stadium of one of the teams, that would interest me more. Yeah, weather becomes a factor but who gives a ----? I think that would be cool if there were games played in the snow.

I honestly don't remember anything about the game except that Wisky won.

Well, precisely. If you can't get a sellout with millions of fans within a few hours drive, you're not doing it right. Do it different.

That's something to consider. B1G supporters are widely considered groups that travel well. There's no reason at all for this, save for that the souf is awesum.

I'm sure if/when the Big10 has a conference championship game that actually matters with two nationally relevant teams playing then attendance will improve.

What I'm saying is that if what you say its true, there's room for a decent discussion about what the SEC does different that goes above and beyond the childish derision of the Big Ten.

#1 would be local support. How many in Atlanta go to the game to watch vs Indy? I'd bet more in Atlanta.. Indy is a pro town. Georgia is still about college sports.

There are many fans of every SEC team in Atlanta, there are so many people from Mississippi or who went to Auburn or who went to grad school at Vandy that live here, there is indeed a built in crowd, but in the end that really doesn't matter, because SEC fans strongly identify with the league, more than Big10 fans. I know you guys don't want to hear it but Fandom is stronger and deeper in SEC country. I mean, everyone from kindergarten kids to PTA moms to little old ladies talk about SEC football just about 365 days a year.

Fans are indeed more ``fanatic'' down there, so to speak. I've seen that myself and agree.

It doesn't make sense intuitively that it can't sell out b/c it's in Indy. You don't need that many fans to make a drive that's 5 hours or so or less to sell out that place. I could be wrong and some of you are more attuned to the business of CFB, but it just doesn't make intuitive sense.
