What is "doing the right thing" in this case and why is expulsion the proper course rather than punishing them with sanctions? If your goal is to punish Penn State, then kicking them out probably won't hurt them very much if at all. Hell, for some of that fanbase you'd be giving them exactly what they want. The ACC, Big East, and Big12 would probably all immediately offer them an invitation.

In the environment we're now in, with conference menershit in flux and the viability of several conferences at stake, I've gotta think that a program of that stature being a free agent would be a chance at a windfall, both monetarily and non if possible.

"Right thing to do" involves punishing PSU. Kicking them out of the B1G does not punish them. And instead it punishes the B1G. If the "right thing to do" equals punishment, then punishment within the framework of the conference is the only way that is accomplished from the B1G point of view.

I think what should happen is that PSU is ordered by the B1G to come clean...stop hiding behind lawyers...pay your dues and make restitution to the families of the victims...and maybe do some charitable things for youth groups...abused childrens advocacy groups...etc. However if they continue to try to stay in damage control mode something needs to be done.Shut the fuck up Donny!

If it becomes apparent that PSU covered this up,....intentionally....to protect their football brand, and the PSU brand......and still put up roadblocks....which they are doing BTW....then I still think its' something that should be discussed. I think the BIG, with it's Academic Sharing, and stellar Athletic standards, is something to be protected. Dumping an institution that cannot do something as simple as protecting children may cost us some money, but I'm fine with that. If the cash is more important to everyone, then I'll gladly stand in the minority.

Which is why it's worth discussing.
As to future "value" of PSU.....suppose they do get the dreaded LOIC.......the program becomes a shitstain......other programs become irrelevant.....fans outside of Happy Valley stop caring, Tv #'s drop......then we're saddled with a shit school.
