Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.

Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.

If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!

Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.

Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

  • Cool! But how did the company know which bottles you'd open later in the night instead of earlier?

      • I bet they didn't think about it, but instead adopted a trial-and-error approach to figure out how to best predict this. I will initiate my own trial-and-error approach this evening and will report back to the group later with my findings.

Lone Star still does the rebus thing. I think Ballantine did the same thing back in the day.

I used to have both a beer can and a bottle cap collection when I was around 8 or 9 years old. I'd ask my dad to buy all kinds of different beer. I'm pretty sure he wasn't a big drinker but he did like the occasional beer. I think it was nice of him to humor me.

          • Speaking of beer cans, I took this photo in a bar in Brooklyn a few weeks ago. Their whole wall was like this:

I was kind of working at the time so I didn't get to help them start on another wall.

                        • Maybe it's just all cans from around 1982? There's some generic beer cans there too.

                          • Yeah, I noticed those "generic" beers. Unbranded beer--- I think Meijer even carried those for a while back then---did anyone ever buy those? Eventually, the beer companies realized they could re-package that generic beer and bamboozle people into buying it by slapping BudLight labels on them.
