      • In case you haven't kept up with the Penn State stuff, the Feds are officially involed

Four months after the world found out about the sick activities at Penn State, the big boys are finally involved.

          • Its possible, removes the B10 from the College World Series barring rule changes but I don't see B10 baseball being relevant nationally anytime soon...

B10 can't recruit the south offering partial scholarships and there isn't much talent up north, so why not just play by ourselves and maybe our MAC and Ohio Valley friends?

            • That would be lame, in my opinion.

              • I dunno. I kind of like the idea.

The NCAA basically ignores most northern teams when it comes to the tournament anyway, so its not like they'd miss them if they left.

                • The problem compounds itself because even baseball recruits in the north don't even want to play for northern teams with the system in place. B10 can't compete in the current climate and is best off separating themselves than trying to compete with the messed up rules currently in place.

                    • Can't say I watch a lot of College Baseball but, baseball is supposed to be played in the summer. I'd watch it on the BTN.

                      I like the idea.

Besides it sends a nice message from the B1G to the NCAA and the SEC ..... you guys suck.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

I'm with you on this, Jeff. It's a move that the B1G should make if the NCAA doesn't do anything to level the playing field a bit---it's still another 3 weeks or so until U of M's Baseball and Softball teams get their first home games. Nothing like a 5-week road trip (with trips back-and-forth to Ann Arbor to keep up with their studies) to start the season for our student athletes.

                        • I plan on taking in at least one day of Michigan Baseball this spring, I was looking a bit recently at their schedule, and I see that "M" plays @ WMU in May. Just a half-hour drive from here, I've got it penciled in on my calender. I wonder if "M" has any home football or softball games the day of the annual Spring Scrimmage; don't they also have Lacrosse vs. ohio that afternoon?

                          • I think Baseball is home on the Spring Game weekend.

I just looked up info on the Spring game, also on baseball and softball schedules...

Michigan battles ohio in Lacrosse right there at The Big House, shortly after the Spring Game is over.

The U of M Baseball team, however, is out-of-town, playing that weekend @ Penn State.

The "M" Softball team, though, has a home Sunday DH vs. spartie, starting @ 1pm.

I may stick around and go see that, especially if I decide I can get in good enough shape to do a 1-Mile Fun Run at 9 am that day. I'm several years removed from my most recent 5k and 10k runs, and even now, I'd have to start working out a bit more to survive a mile run, but that's my goal, as it would be a huge rush to be able to end that run by jogging down the tunnel onto Michigan Stadium turf, then run under the south goal post before a final sprint to the finish line at the Block M on the 50!

                              • I won't be at the Spring Game this year because that's the weekend I'm aiming for to have our grand opening. But, I'll be looking in here later in the day, hoping to see you guys' reports, and hopefully a few pics.
