Please support the Forum by using the Amazon Link this Holiday Season
Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.
Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.
If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!
Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.
Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

Eh. Wisconsin's overachievement is somewhat overblown. They were 2-6 in the Big Ten in 2008 and the classes that were upperclassmen the past couple of years weren't too bad in the rankings. It's much the same thing that happened with Iowa in 2009. That, and an incredibly talented fifth year senior showed up this year.
The lack of athletes on Wisky's defense was painfully obvious at times this year.Last edited by Hannibal; February 1, 2012, 10:14 PM.

I checked. Wisconsin's recruiting via Scout
2002: #53
2003: #36
2004: #37
2005: #35
2006: #37
2007: #41
2008: #26
2009: #51
2010: #33
2011: #38
2012: #62
It's possible they've been better at spotting and developing talent than the so-called professional scouts. But they've done very well for a program that routinely recruits in the #35-50 range.

It collapses every year -- they don't really ever beat better teams, do they?
But good for them if they've punched their way into the national scene the way they have; with a certain style and without topline talent. Good for the league too, and it's just on Hoke et al to not lose to that sorta team.
