  • "Totally fitting punishment"

You and I agree, sir. This is exactly what I'd expect from an absolutely impotent organization like the NCAA.

    A punishment with no bite.

Bring on the "spy punishment" Looking forward to it. But its still almost a year away.

OK, yes he did. But a 4y show cause? Similar cases of recruiting violations like the ones the NCAA alleges Harbaugh committed have never reached level 1 standing or resulted in a show cause case as far as know. This is clearly a biased and laughable punishment with the NCAA targeting Harbaugh.

Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

Well if today's action is any indication the Mighty NCAA will probably ban Stallions from ever having a scouting job in CFB in the future. Or at least 4 years ... so .....

        • HARBAUGH!!!!!!!: Ladies and gentlemen, I'll be brief. The issue here is not whether we broke a few rules, or took a few liberties with our recruits during Covid...—we did. [winks at NCAA Rules Committee] But you can't hold a whole university responsible for the behavior of a few, sick perverted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole university system? And if the whole university system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our educational institutions in general? I put it to you, NCAA: isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do what you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America. Gentlemen! [Leads the Wolverines out of the hearing, all humming the Star-Spangled Banner]
          NCAA: Order!
NCAA RULES COMMITTEE You're not walking out of this one, mister! You're finished! No more HARBAUGH!!!!!!!! You've bought it this time, buster! I'm calling your University President! I'm going to revoke your charter! And if you wise guys try one more thing, one more, I'm going to kick you out of the NCAA! NO MORE FUN OF ANY KIND!!

Remove Harbaugh and substitute Tressel into that sentence. LOL.

Schools could not have have recruits on campus during the COVID dead period -- like all other dead periods. Schools abided by those rules. HARBAUGH!!!! did not. Then he lied about it. Deal with it.

              Anyway -- we'll see.

The 4 year show cause thing is the NCAA having a temper tantrum because they can't touch Harbaugh any other way, other than to effectively banning him from ever holding a job again. They know due to his age, he's not likely to return anyway, but they did this so they could how 'tough' they are. Yeah, .. really tough.

                What a freaking joke.

So the infamous hamburger recruiting affair came to light about a year ago, and today we finally got notice of the NCAA's "punishment". "Spy-gate" came to light during last season, while Harbaugh was serving a pre-emptive suspension for the hamburger recruiting scandal. So, I guess that means that spy-gate's potential 'punishment' will be handed down in about a year?

Keep up the great work, NCAA!!!

                    • The recruiting director stated that, as a general matter, "the culture [in the football program] wasn't to be safe, the culture was to go to the line and cross it if you had to."

Really didn't care if they were cheating or not. Violating dead period rules. Lying about it. Challenging the NCAA do anything about it.
