Dennis Dodd -- JFC -- said "sources" expect the M "response" to basically be -- this is an NCAA issue not a B10 issue. I hadn't really considered that, but that's actually what makes the most sense. They can't really treat this like it's a proper B10 issue b/c they presumably want to go argue that it's not a B10 issue. So they can't really engage the B10 on any of the facts -- they can only say it's for the NCAA to decide, not you.
That actually makes a lot of sense to me. It would also mean that they MIGHT not refute anything the B10 has said. I guess, in theory, they could say something like "Even though you have no power to do jackshit let us correct the record you dumbasses...."
But my bet is they don't engage the facts. Which will clear the path for the B10 to act swiftly.

I didn't say it was a great issue for them, but that's sort of the core point M fans have been making. "Due process" just means let the NCAA conduct a full investigation before hammering us. By then we won't care.
It's either that or try to refute undeniable facts.

The B10 (and everyone else) knows M cheated. No one with a shred of sanity is disputing that. That's the B10's focus -- YOU CHEATED.
M's focus is, yeah, well, we don't think you can't do anything about it. So GFY.
That's essense of where they are.
I guess I should add -- M is fully aware that their little Dantonio Blip is coming to an end and they'll be regressing hard to the mean. They're all in for 2023.

I read some of that this morning re: legal strategy. Apparently there's something in the Big Ten bylaws about deferring to the NCAA with certain caveats. The legal path is clearly to argue the process and hope to delay the the Big Ten's suspension for 17 more days.
If there is any more dirt (and there fucking better be) to come out, I would expect it this afternoon. That way if the hammer drops tomorrow, it will do so in the middle of a shitstorm of accusations against other Big Ten programs playing out in the media. Doesn't seem like the Big Ten would want a huge PR mess on it's hands but it's one they'll likely get.
