Not a great week last week 3-3 in conference and 1-2 on wildcards. Deserved way better backing Illinois, but then again, deserved to be shot into the sun for backing nFw. 25-25-1 in conference and 12-6 on wildcards. Barely ahead of a blind monkey picking out of a hat. Superb. On the plus side, this is the "Bye Week from the Gods" -- no nFw, no Rutgers, no Iowa. Our Creator has deemed that we've endured enough. Praise be.


Illinois (+6') vs Minnesota. This line has moved from 3' to 6' probably owing to news that Ibrahim will play. It couldn't possibly relate to Illinois starting QB news because the difference between DeVito and Sitkowski is the difference between The Wizard and Strangelove -- both are awful and we're all much worse off for witnessing anything they do. So, Ibrahim is back. Great. I still like Bert to turn this into a true shitfest game. Illinois plays good defense and they run. Minnesota, I think, benefited from an undeserved bump from beating Sparty badly when, in fact, Sparty just sucks. I think this is a toss up UNLESS Tanner Morgan comes up somewhat big. I'll bet against that and say Illinois wins outright, 16-13.

Michigan (-7) vs Penn State. This one is pretty simple for me -- one of these teams has an absolutely elite unit and one does not. Penn State is solid on defense, but they'll be no match for the best RB in the country, the best OL in the country, arguably the best WR room in the country and the QB with the highest upside in the country. And, no, Old Man Clifford ain't putting up enough to deal with that. Not even with the emergence of Nick Singleton as a quality back. HARBAUGH!!!! will smother the game in the 4th with death marches to kill the clock, so I'll say 31-17, M.

Maryland (-11') at Indiana. I still think Indiana is just awful. I still think Maryland is mediocre. However, I really think this is a good matchup for Maryland. They have outside skill that IU can't cope with, and The Turtle's non-impressive defense won't really get tested. I think Maryland puts up a bunch and covers fairly easily, 41-20.

Wisconsin (-7) at Michigan State. I'm not going to get too far into the weeds on this one because I know what I have to do and it makes me uneasy. Graham Mertz is generally awful, except when he's not. And when he's not, Wisconsin really lays it on teams. It seems to me that the Sparty pass "defense" is exactly the type of outlier opponent that produces Very Good Mertz. So, I'll say Badgers win with ease, 38-17.

Nebraska (+13') at Purdue. Hard to imagine the number is this big for B10 West battle for supremacy. Hard to imagine Purdue playing as a big favorite and not fucking it up with some sort of fucktwat antics. So, eh, I'll say Purdue wins a close one, 31-24.

BYE: Ohio State, Rutgers, nFw, Iowa.

Miami, Florida (-7) at Virginia Tech. This pick gives me hives, but as bad as I think Miami is, I think Virginia Tech is way worse. Also, Fuck Bezerklie.
California (-15) at Colorado. What I just said times like 10. JFC.
Oklahoma State (+4') at Texas Christian. What a fucking world we live in where narrowly beating Kansas w/o their starting QB turns you into a B12 power. Mike Gundy is having none of that fucking shit. NONE.

There is no one who can touch them in the B10.

Meanwhile, Bert is dominating Minnesota and about to take control of the West.
