Scantily clad cheerleaders from the University of Spoiled Children are its only redeeming feature. They can send them and leave the team at home. I have yet to see any value whatsoever in UCLA.
Divide the conference into two divisions. The original teams (minus Illinois and Purdue) in one and all the rest in the other. Call the divisions "Contenders" and "Dumpster-fires".I don't watch Fox News for the same reason I don't eat out of a toilet.

A report from Yahoo today says a source close to the Big Ten says these are the four universities in the Big Ten wishlist
Notre Dame
Stanford
Oregon
UNC
source is not as sure on UNC and says list is fluid.
So if all that goes down you might get pods that look like this
pod1
Oregon
USC
UCLA
Stanford
Notre Dame
pod 2
Iowa
Nebraska
Minnesota
Wisconsin
Northwestern
Pod 3
Michigan
Michigan State
Ohio State
Indiana
Purdue
Pod4
Illinois
Penn State
UNC
Rutgers
Maryland
concession made to Notre Dame for a national schedule here. That meant the yearly Illinois/northwestern loses out and cornhuskers get bumped over to pod 2.
BTW what killer MBB league this would be.
2012 Detroit Lions Draft: 1) Cordy Glenn G , 2) Brandon Taylor S, 3) Sean Spence olb, 4) Joe Adams WR/KR, 5) Matt McCants OT, 7a) B.J. Coleman QB 7b) Kewshan Martin WR

So I think the dream final four would be:Duke, Virginia, Washington, Colorado
4 pods of 6.
Pod 1
Washington
Oregon
Notre Dame
USC
UCLA
Stanford
Pod 2
Colorado
Nebraska
Wisconsin
Iowa
Minnesota
Illinois
Pod 3
Michigan
Michigan State
Ohio State
Indiana
Purdue
Northwestern
Pod 4
Penn State
Maryland
Rutgers
UNC
Duke
Virginia
Play 5 games in your pod then 12 games against another 2 pod over the course of 3 years. So Michigan schedule could look look like this
Year 1: Notre Dame, Stanford, Nebraska, Wisconsin
Year 2 : USC, Washington, Colorado, Illinois
Year 3: UCLA, Oregon, Minnesota, Iowa
2012 Detroit Lions Draft: 1) Cordy Glenn G , 2) Brandon Taylor S, 3) Sean Spence olb, 4) Joe Adams WR/KR, 5) Matt McCants OT, 7a) B.J. Coleman QB 7b) Kewshan Martin WR

Georgia Tech is a big fucking zero. Especially for the SEC.
Clemson is a pretty big brand name. I think brand value is way more valuable now than "markets" or whatever. And Clemson has big brand value.
IMO, the ACC schools that the B10 should consider are, in order, UNC, Clemson and Virginia. And no one else. The SEC probably has some leeway to add Florida State to the mix only because the SEC is bascially limited to adding ACC teams.
The B10 has its choice of P12 leftovers, too.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

Clemson has the feel of an SEC school...might be me though.

There's a Dennis Dodd story out today that the Big12 is in "deep discussions" with up to 6 Pac12 schools but considering it's Dennis Dodd, take with a large grain of salt.
Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah to the Big12 makes some sense. The other two are supposedly Washington and Oregon, who I don't think would go Big12 unless they had no other choice. But the Arizona schools (and Utah) probably know they have zero chance of getting a Big10 invite so they may get out while the getting's good.

It's not that Duke doesn't have value, but they don't have enough...IMO. I mean, it's really how much they add as a hoops-only school. They have a bigger brand value than Villanova, but fundamentally, Villanova and Duke are roughly equivalent.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
