So since the B1G has cited safety as the reason UNL could not play UTC...does this mean no B1G team can play in the postseason this year? The precedent has been set!

I re-watched the Minny game yesterday, and I especially focused on the OL play. I saw at least a half dozen pancake blocks on key drives. Mayfield absolutely abused whoever they put in front of him. I now understand why he's considered a Day 1 pick in the NFL Draft. Guards were pulling and blocking, completely sealing off running lanes. This may not be the best OL in CFB, but this is a good OL. I'd say if its not the best Harbaugh has had here, it's in the top two.
This is the first MSU game in about a decade where I feel completely confident of a sound Michigan win. I don't think I'll be eating those words. MSU just doesn't have the personnel to match up with what Michigan is going to throw at them today."in order to lead America you must love America"

Yup. I was talking to a friend that lives in Madison yesterday and he mentioned how crazy COVID is in the area.
Purdue is playing an Illinois team that is down 14 players today.
Might play Wisconsin down 10+ players next week... if the game is not canceled. Good chance it will be.AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill

That's really sad. I can argue that the 30% positivity rate for new cases in Wisconsin - if that number is accurate and I have reason to believe it's not - is still a lot of folks with COVID, who don't know they have it and are walking around spreading it. Charts I'm looking at don't look like there is some huge jump in new cases, day to day, in Dane County where Madison and U of WI is located. That would suggest the reality of exponential growth - what happens as a case multiplier with a positivity rate like that - isn't a factor at all. Whatever.
But, that's correct. If you're trying to create even a semi- bubble, mitigation protocols have to be rigidly adhered to. You have to test- test and test again. If one player tests positive, contract tracing has to be comprehensive. If that's not happening you get what the Badgers are dealing with. Why is it, one has to ask, that the Badger program has 27 dudes with COVID? Probably not enough testing and tracing, isolating and ID of contacts of positives for observation. That's purely speculative but it's an informed guess.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. Haven't seen this posted but apparently, the BT is looking at changes to the COVID testing protocols. From the 247 report last night that flowed into my news feeds today, the changes involve what happens if a player gets a positive on an antigen tests but the team doesn't have access to a confirmatory RT/PCR test. The current policy that requires all athletes to sit out any contest where they receive a pre-game antigen test that is positive........even if they have an RT/PCR test confirming it as false. WTF? The Big's answer to this is not all schools have access to Rapid RT/PCR tests so we made it uniform for all - IOW the lowest Common Denominator theory applied to COVID testing applies. How stupid is that. There should be no excuse for a BT program not having access to all the Anitgen and Rapid RT/PCR tests they need. The only thing I can think of that might prevent that is a state priority use sort of thing. OK, fine, say Ohio has that? The Big Ten buys what they need and provides it to them. But noooooo. Typical. Anyway, the light bulb went on and because coaches complained about this rule, they're going to change it somehow, I don't know how but somehow so that there will be follow-ups on antigen testing that show an athlete to be positive with a Rapid RT/PCR test. If that test is negative before the game, he can play right away.
Maybe they'll change the other stupid 21d rule too. What a bunch of dick-heads running the BIG front office.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished.
