M's 2018 offense has only clicked vs really bad defenses and Wisconsin. Even then, Shea had trouble making some easy throws to open receivers.

No illusions about running the table, alot of good teams we still have to play. Don't want to see this offense against a better defense than Sparty.

First, Buchanan, you stated that it's been a long time since M was in the conversation in November. They were definitively part of the conversation throughout the entire month of November in 2016. Whether that's what you meant by a long time, I can't say.

I don't know this. I'm not terribly impressed with M's offense. I think, e.g., Clemson's DL would obliterate the fuck out of them. Just because I think Ohio State can't stop them doesn't mean I think it's a good offense. Ohio State couldn't stop Minnesota for awhile, and Minnesota's offense is really bad.

The only teams that would be ranked ahead of a hypothetical 12-1 Michigan team would be undefeated Clemson, Notre Shame, and 1-loss or undefeated SEC teams. If there are two one-loss SEC teams then we'll get left out. I'd really like to get into the playoff since I want us to have an excuse to lose that game. i.e. I'd rather get assraped by Alabama than lose to a 10-2 Pac 12 team. if you lose to Alabama then you can still make the case that you were legit #4 and 'bama was just that good. If we play Oklahoma -- not so much.

There's still some unexplored upside with our offense. Namely with Shea putting the team on his shoulders and carrying us the way that he did sometimes at Ole Miss. Right now he's a game manager.

I agree re OU and M being a toss-up in terms of a game and who gets in. M's schedule could really end up being terrible. The B10 is terrible. I mean, right now M's "marquee" win is a 20-17 win against a team that lost to Akron on the same field by 5 the game before.

OU really needs WV to win at Okie St. If I had to really dissect it, I'd say the also need Texas to beat WV this week. If they can beat a 9-2 WV team on the road and then whip Texas in the CG, then I think that makes things a real toss up.

M is going to get to play OSU in Columbus, but whoever wins the West is going to be total garbage.

If Ohio State shocks the world and upsets M, then the B10 is likely out (assuming OU runs the table).

The Texas loss to Maryland would act as a tiebreaker.

Oklahoma's non conference schedule included Florida Atlantic, Army, and UCLA. Their schedule sucks and UM will finish with a higher SOS guaranteed. The Okies don't have a marquee win either.

You should always want to get in the playoff even if you think a wood chipper is waiting for you. Trying to avoid the CFP is a ridiculous loser mentality. When I write loser, be sure use the Ace Ventura voice in your head.

Yeah, not yet. We're postulating a world, however, where both M and OU are 12-1. Then M will have 1 marquee win -- maybe -- and OU may have two including one the rectifies their last season loss to Texas.
