4 teams in NY6 Bowls, we could be the Big XII and have 1 team in a NY6 bowl and have the rest the league setup up in easier match-ups. Top 6 of the B1G are awfully strong but they will be really tested too; playing mostly all top 20 opponents.

Michigan's 2006 offense wasn't better than this year's by much, if at all. They only put up 17 against Wisconsin, 34 against CMU, 27 against Vanderbilt, 17 against Penn State, and 20 against Iowa. QB had more talent and accuracy but he didn't have the pocket presence, or dare I say -- the smarts that Speight has. RB and receivers were better. OL was probaby a little worse. TE was not in the same solar system. OC and coaching were way worse.

From 10K feet can't disagree with your take on osu v Clemson. Something you didn't mention in osu's favor is that I think Shiano is good and creating confusion for the QB with his schemes and calls. I'd actually like osu to hold Celmson under 20. I think osu wins if they can do that.
There's been some decent discussion about the M 2006 team v. 2016. Aside from Debord's boring run game with Hart edging off Long's hip for 4 or 5 yards a crack, which was mostly unwatchable but worked BTW, Henne, while being a more consistent QB than Speight, also had a better receiving corps in WRs Manningham and Breaston. Overall, some thing TE Tyler Ecker is as good if not a shade better than Butt. It was a decent and efficient, if not spectacular offense. USC was explosive that year.
But, there's no comparing M's D in 2016 to 2006. Woodley, Branch and Graham were good on the DL and so was Crable at LB. The back side was weak and got exposed by USC. The biggest problem for this team when comparing them was the 2006 team labored under DC Ron Eglinsh. Supposedly a not that great Jim Hermann clone, he was worse ..... at least that's my take on English. Fortuenately defense has evovled and Don Brown has as well.
Overall, I think the 2016 team is better than 2006 and maybe not by a small amount considering how good the defense is and how good in the modern era defenses have to be. Brown and his staff have delivered.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

Yeah, I should have factored in HARABUGH!!! vs DeBord when it comes to the offense. I think the 2006 offense may have been a little more talented, but in terms of production, the 2016 version is considerably better.
I like the 2016 defense way better. For me, the secondary is what really separates them. They have a really good DL, too, but so did 2006.
As far as OSU goes, I think they're probably better, too. I think almost any UFM team is better than most Tressel teams. The article I link took time to opine that, while UFM will never say it, his 2016 team would beat the piss out of his 12-0 2012 team. I tend to agree.
Finally, if Clemson is held to 20, then OSU will win. I'm not sure how feasible that is, but I do think OSU has a really good defense. And, one of the key factors against Clemson is TOs. They can get really sloppy. And OSU's secondary is the ballhawking secondary I've seen at OSU. Not only ballhawking, but Pick 6-ing, too.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

Well, Wisconsin propped its ranking up by beating LSU. Ohio State won at Oklahoma. M convincingly beat Colorado -- and regardless of QB injury, they moved the ball well. So, it feels like 3 of their top teams went of out of conference and beat someone pretty good.
But, yes, I'm leery, too. I've seen this movie before. I tend to think it's not a 2006 redux, but I'm certainly not sold on it.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

PSU has a red hot USC team that is vastly improved with their new quarterback. Basically a home game for USC.
UNL has to play basically a home game vs Tenn..
Iowa has to play basically a home game vs Florida..
Michigan has an in-state game against FSU..Grammar... The difference between feeling your nuts and feeling you're nuts.
