If the new facilities are being built in West Lafayette then they won't do much good.
But, hey, they're in the West! I wouldn't take a huge turnaround to be competitive in that division, and I think they're in far better shape, roster-wise, than when Hazell stuck his head in the guillotine that is the Purdue job.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

Go to West Lafayette and don't die. Just live there the rest of your life in that hellhole where your fallow intellect will finally find community acceptance.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Interesting .......
The article leaves no doubt that Wilson's departure was due to behaviors that are (1) hard to nail down with specifics, (2) hard to prove or disprove.
In the military there is a nice catch phrase when a superior wants to fire a subordinate. It is, "lost confidence in the ability to lead ....." It's never challenged and the reason for that is that there is rarely (although I think there may have been rare instances) where a claim of wrongful termination was made.
That option is not available outside the military and wrongful termination claims are standard practice in employment law. I doubt one will arise in this situation because Wilson resigned. But man, you can see all the maneuvering done by IU to make sure they are clean in this and aren't exposing themselves to litigation.
This is a lot like the Mike Leach/Adam James controversy although Leach fought his termination from TT in court .... and lost. There's a difference though. Leach is a smart ass. Wilson isn't - at least as far as I know about him which isn't a lot. Maybe he is. Football coaches are tough guys. They can joke around about player being hurt but that is dangerous territory in the age of phone videos and parents of HS and CFB players who have the will to chase down something they think is suspicious about how their kid was treated. It could be nothing like I think it was in the Leach/James case (emotional rather than physical issues), or it could be something like it definitely was in Wilson's case.
To me, and in the larger context, it just demonstrates how dangerous it is to be in a high profile job and try to take short cuts, try to be funny about something that you shouldn't be joking about and how tenuous one's hold on that great job that you dreamed about can be. It all boils down to making sure you are thinking clearly about your behavior and every action you are contemplating taking .......
Hey, Donald ....... hello.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
