      • They have Purdue next @ home, they'll win 7-8 games, all probably against bottom 50 FBS teams. Already bowl eligible with 4 left to play.

        • M's last two national championships (counting halfsies) have come the last two times the Indians either won or came within a game of winning the World Series. That's very good news for M fans....other than being on par with Tribe for the past 70 years.

              • His childishly, inflammatory comments directed against the M football program
This is from a Buchanan post on the M Team thread -- don't want to garble it up -- but, serious question -- how do you feel about HARBAUGH's use of Twitter and various ways he's behaved in answering questions?

I mean, I get the Dantonio stuff. For example, I thought his business with the "stake" was petty, stupid bullshit. But, I mean...well...heh...your guy says some shit, too. Lots of it.

                • Harbaugh totally stirs stuff up with the way he talks. I think the difference between Harbaugh and Dantonio is that Harbaugh points his trash talking at people or situations that are "bothering" him at the time whereas Dantonio's vile is completely focused at Michigan, regardless of the current situation (W/L's, coaches, coaching styles, players, rivalry balance). It's very calculated. Harbaugh seems to react that on twitter/elsewhere on a whim. Harbaugh is wide and shallow with this twitter rants whereas Dantonio is narrow and deep at only Michigan. As a result, Harbaugh likely annoys more fan bases but Dantonio elicits hatred from M.

                  • talent .......

I can't defend Jimmy Ball Game's weird shit that he does.

But like there is on this forum, there's a distinction between smack talk that is intended to attack, impugn or denigrate and smack talk or behavior that's meant to be funny.

I thought the stuff tressel used to pull on Carr when M came to town (the long, drawn out sniffing dog security checks, no hot water in showers, all of that) was funny as hell. The things Hayden Fry used to pull on Bo (painting the visitor's locker room pink) where all undertaken in good humor. Bo and LC may not have thought so but too bad.

Dantonio is on a whole different level with his smack talk. First off he's a grump. There's no touch of humor in anything he does and that includes outside of M football. I guess I'd put Harbaugh's weirdness in the humorous, tongue in cheek category. Dantonio isn't using the language of humor; I'd describe his stuff as mocking and hateful. While I think, as the adult he supposedly is, he knows the difference but for some reason when it comes to Michigan, he loses frontal lobe control.

                        • Harbaugh's antics are funny because they are weird and I think totally genuine as opposed to him being purposefully funny.

                          • The Big Ten will be playing Friday night football starting next season, a move the conference made with an eye toward more primetime exposure.

Delany told the Chicago Tribune on Wednesday that the conference’s new television agreements with ESPN/ABC and Fox will include a package of six prime-time Friday games starting in 2017.

Delany said the Big Ten likely wouldn’t ask schools with large stadiums to accommodate home games on a Friday night like Ohio State and Penn State while Delany added Michigan has refused to take part in the new scheduling.

                            • Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith told ESPN.com that the only Friday night where the school could host a game occurs during during its autumn break, typically the second week of October. "We don't have classes on campus that Thursday or Friday," Smith said. "So operationally it works because we're not dealing with parking issues or classes or any of those conflicts that a game would get in the way of." Ohio State is open to playing Friday night road games in September.

                              • Friday night football -- my opinion probably isn't shared by many here, but I'm good with it. Way too much football being crammed into the 3:30 and primetime slots nowadays. If this is one more game that Michigan plays not at 3:30 or nighttime Saturday, then I like it.
