IMO wins over Oregon, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma overshadow Iowa's performance an whatever the hell Rutgers/Maryland/Illinois were doing. Heck, even Northwestern picked up a P5 win (The league was 5-0 in P5 play yesterday and 9-2 overall)

    • SEC is down. Bama will win it. I think they played their toughest game Saturday.

Nice win by Ohio State. But this isn't a great OU team. Still, very good win over a now 2-loss team.

Nice win by MSU over ND. Again, this isn't a great ND team. Still, very good win overva now 2-loss team.

Nice win by Nebraska over Oregon. Not a great Duck team, as well. But this was a big step for UNL.

M beat a bad CU team 45-28. Decent win.

        -------

Penn State beat a now 2-loss Temple team by 7 in Happy Valley.

Rutgers at home beat a very bad New Mexico team by 9.

Iowa at home lost to an FCS team (albeit a good FCS team).

Wisconsin at home beat a now 0-3 GaState team by 6.

Illinois lost by 24 at home to a MAC team.

Maryland at home needed 2OT to beat a horrible UCF team.

NFW did beat Duke. Duke is not good this year. Lost by 10 to Weak Forrest last week.

        ---------

Maybe the above makes it a "good week" for the B1G. For an outsider, it was kinda meh to bad- except for a few games noted at the top.

Tenn will get it together. TAMU is playing well, and I expect LSU will continue to improve.

          • So the difference between a conf having a "meh" week and a good one is the MOV the 14th best team in the conference wins by?

3-0 against ranked teams, 5-0 against P5, 9-2 overall. Good week.

I think I was pretty clear. IMO, 7 of the 11 teams playing did not have good games. If that makes it a "great week" to you, we will just have to disagree. From afar, it was "meh" with the noted exceptions.

Kinda like Tenn struggling with Ohio, or Arkie struggling with LaTech last week. Sure, they're wins, but I don't think they're great games. Likewise, Bama blowing a late 18-point lead to only beat a ranked Ole Miss team by 5 isn't a "great" win. But they are all wins! Great job! Good effort!

              • Ah, I see the issue. When I say "good", you hear "great"

Tenn: based on what? Their game against Appy State or Ohio?
TAMU: meh. Don't think their UCLA win is better than Neb's over Oregon and Auburn has lost 9 of their last 11 conference games.
                  LSU: continue? what about start?

I'm not sure how you can say the B1G had a poor or mediocre week and then point to these teams as tough tests for Bama.

Semantics. I don't think it was a "good day" overall.

TAMU is decent this year. Beating UCLA and then a nice double-digit win over Auburn. I hate, HATE, that Trevor Knight xferred to TAMU. He is already 1-0 vs Bama.

LSU went to a new QB. He is still learning, but they I think the talent is there and by November, they'll give us a tough game and may win.

As far as Tenn, you're right, two of their three wins have been very "meh" - but I expect them to improve. The pieces are there.

But overall, Bama is way down, and so is the SEC.

                        • Tennessee sucks, horribly, terribly on the offensive line. Not sure there's a remedy for that and it's only gonna get worse in conference.

No, no, no! They have had three GOOD wins!

                              • And kidding aside, offensive lines get better with practice. Takes a while to gel. They have talent there. Plus, it's a rivalry game and it's played in Knoxville.
